BROOMFIELD BIJOU would ideally prefer a longer distance and also makes her chase debut, but might have sufficient ability to win. She drops in trip, having had two midfield finishes in smart hurdles earlier this year, but won a Punchestown Festival handicap at this distance in 2023 and likes sound surfaces. Still Ciel won a point-to-point on her career debut and has a big race-fitness edge, having run well on her chase debut. She inherited second place at the final fence in Tipperary but nonetheless showed promise and can be depended upon to run well. Implicit won at April's Fairyhouse Festival and while her recent form is very poor, it is encouraging Paul Townend retains the ride.

Consistent PALACE ROCK hasn't run since an uncharacteristically disappointing effort in March but is a capable type on his day. Currently rated 132 over hurdles, he has had a break since that latest run and, while he also pulled up on his sole previous chase run at this course in October 2022, is more battle-hardened now and also encounters a more suitable surface. Common Practice won a Listed hurdle last December and is currently rated 137 in that sphere, following two recent disappointments. He now debuts over fences and, being Flat-bred, might be best watched. Mister Wilson has good recent form, has plenty chase experience and, while also ideally suited by conditions, is vulnerable to an on-song selection.

WARM IN GOREY wears first-time cheekpieces and disappointed in a recent Clonmel chase, but can win from his rating. He is rated 8lb lower over hurdles but, in that sphere, is a dual winner and has contested useful races. His initial chase runs were encouraging, he is 14lb better off with Bocelli's Voice for a two-length course-and-distance beating in April and the form of both May runs at Kilbeggan and Downpatrick (where his saddle slipped) have worked out very well. Bocelli's Voice himself recently showed useful handicap form when finishing third at Kilbeggan. Time Marches On won a similar race at Tipperary in May, when beating Freddie Robdal into fourth place, although he was well held on a recent run.

JUST JACOB shaped okay on his first run for 544 days at Downpatrick but should improve considerably from that run and reverts to fences, for his first handicap chase. A dual summer hurdle winner in 2022, he was well held in three hot beginners' chase runs later that year but begins rated just 99 in handicap chases, which is 7lb below his peak hurdles rating and he remains a fraction unexposed. Prince Of Air disappointed on a recent Tipperary run but had previously won a similar race at Tramore. Jack Holiday debuts for a new yard and hasn't run since October, but he is a capable performer at this level and is ideally suited by this distance and good ground.

CAESAR ROCK is a 13-race chase maiden but has form in this sphere. His sole success came over hurdles here in April 2022 and while frustrating, has bumped into capable rivals. He now competes in this 0-116-over-hurdles bracket and a reproduction of his effort behind a 130-rated winner here 11 days ago would give him every chance. Debut point-to-point winner Kudasheva disappointed on chase debut last month but should improve. A six-race hurdles' maiden, the form of her Killarney run in May has worked out notably well and being rated 113 over hurdles, receives a useful 7lb mares' allowance. Chase debutant Secrecies Of Stone won a recent Tipperary maiden hurdle, is now rated 109 in that sphere and can progress.

MARRONSTOWN might defy a 7lb rise following last month's handicap chase success. Winner of his initial two point-to-point runs in 2022, he has confirmed that promise in recent times and has run well in all four handicap chase starts to date. He proved himself on good ground when winning at Punchestown and being a seven-year-old, might climb the handicap ladder some more. True Faith defeated the subsequent Cork National winner when scoring at Gowran in October 2022 and returned from 589 days off when falling at Killarney in May. He is ideally suited by these conditions. Sphagnum was in contention when falling at the final fence at Limerick in May and having shown form subsequently, should compete under his 7lb claimer.

Point-to-point winner OCODANGO BOY is a 14-race racecourse maiden but was an unlucky loser last month. His form prior to this year was largely poor but having won his maiden point in February, his subsequent handicap chase runs have been encouraging and he had the race at this mercy when exiting at the second-last in Downpatrick. Top-weight Emily In Paris was reported to have burst blood vessels at Kilbeggan in May but is interesting on handicap chase debut. A dual hurdle winner last summer, she is rated 8lb higher in that sphere, likes summer ground and should return to form. Veteran Stormy Master should progress following an encouraging reappearance run at Limerick in May and is useful at this level.
