Andy Holding is back with three tips from today's horse racing action including a NAP at Lingfield.
15:20 Lingfield
HETTIE JACK (NAP) (best price 7-2) caught a tartar in the shape of Blue Zodiac at Yarmouth last time out, but George Scott’s filly still registered a useful effort on the figures and from a potentially favourable draw, she can bounce back to winning ways.
Setting out to make her experience tell at the seaside track, she led the field a merry dance down to halfway and although she kept on well enough from that juncture, she just couldn’t quite cope with the turn of foot exhibited by the winner, who connections hold in very high regard (likely to head to Goodwood next week).
Prior to that solid performance, the daughter of Havana Gold had got badly outpaced in a race run at a blistering gallop before running on strongly late on and she was seen to good effect when held up just of the pace when coming through to score comfortably at Goodwood the time before.
On the evidence of what we’ve seen of her to date, she is probably best taking a lead, so even though there’s a huge temptation to jump on the nearside rail and make all the running from stall 11, she might be better off just sitting in behind the likes of Desdemona, Kinetic Force and Nala Star before pouncing late.

CAESAR ROCK (best price 4-1) can count himself unlucky to bump into the useful Monbeg Park over today’s C&D last time out and a repeat of something similar might be good enough for Mouse Morris’ inmate to finally break his duck over fences.
The way he jumped and travelled throughout the 2m3f journey here 11 days ago, you wouldn’t have known he was a 33-1 chance, and it took a huge effort by his classier opponent (winner rated 130) to get by him in the closing stages.
To add further context to his performance, the useful hurdlers Space Tourist (winner of a listed hurdle), Watch The Weather (rated 123) and Brazil (rated 137) were well behind that day and with seemingly nothing of that calibre in today’s line-up (Ring O Roses the highest rated hurdler with 115), a copy and paste of his aggressive tactics should see this hitherto maiden over fences go close to shedding that unwanted tag this afternoon.
19:50 Leicester
ALBESEEINGYER (best price 9-2) has been threatening to return to her very best form on several starts this season and having scored over today’s C&D in the past, Steph Hollinshead’s mare might just get her turn now revisiting the Midland venue.
Promising on her seasonal bow at Beverley, the five-year-old mare didn’t quite build on that initial effort at Doncaster next time but at Carlisle last time out, she showed much more of her old verve.
Held up at the rear at the Cumbrian venue, she was still languishing in the cheap seats two out, but a late rattle saw her fly home to finish a never-nearer fourth and it was no surprise to find out she ran the last three furlongs in the quickest time on the seven-race card (36.1) – including the one posted by listed winner Jabaara (36.2).
Based on the data from a month ago, she clearly arrives here in fine fettle and despite being up against a field full of relatively unexposed three-year-olds, she’s expected to fly the flag for the older generation.
