Griselda won on her handicap debut last time but that was only by a nose and preference instead goes to NAD ALSHIBA GREEN (best priced at 11/8) who showed dramatic improvement when victorious by 3 ¾ lengths last time at Bath. The Mick Appleby trained filly had disappointed on her three qualifying runs, including when beaten 32 lengths at Haydock earlier this month, but was a well backed winner on her handicap debut last time.

The handicapper has raised Nad Alshiba Green 12lbs for that comfortable success last time but instead she runs here under a 6lb penalty. This means she is 6lbs “well in” at the weights and should prove hard to beat with this step up to 6f looking no negative.

This looks a competitive 0-70 three-year-old handicap but a chance is taken on the handicap debutant FOREVER NOAH (best priced at 6/1). He showed ability in his three qualifying runs with his best run according to RPRs coming when 3rd over this course and distance in February. He now returns from 128 days off the track and in that time he has undergone a gelding operation.

Forever Noah makes his handicap debut off a lowly mark of 63 and he should run well with Aidan Keeley taking off a handy 3lbs and connections fitting him with a first time hood.

The field for this 6f handicap is full of exposed older sprinters and it could provide a good opportunity for the three-year-old SPEEDWOOD (best priced at 8/1) to score on his handicap debut. The Eddie & Patrick Harty trained colt ran well to finish a close 5th on his debut at Cork in May before slightly disappointing at the Curragh on his next start. He outran odds of 25/1 to finish 2nd beaten only two lengths over this course and distance a month ago and an opening mark of 74 could underestimate him based on that run.

Speedwood was a NR on good to firm ground earlier this month so connections have clearly been waiting for this yielding surface for him and he could progress past his rivals with regular rider Chris Hayes on board once again.
