Steve Ryder is back with three tips from Saturday's horse racing action.

Despite still being a maiden and taking on some exciting debut winners, SIMMERING (best priced at 11/8) is expected to one better than at Royal Ascot. The Ollie Sangster trained filly was a well backed 3rd on her debut at York before finishing 2nd by ¾ length behind Fairy Godmother in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The form of that run has been boosted by the 3rd Heavens Gate and the 4th Mountain Breeze finishing 3rd and 2nd respectively in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket since. Recently purchased by Al Shaqab Racing, Simmering is expected to get off the mark in this race with Ryan Moore taking over on board for the first time.

A non-runner yesterday at Ascot in preference for running in this 0-85 handicap, BALTIC (best priced at 7/4) can hopefully take it unbeaten record in handicaps to five. The Harry Charlton trained colt finished well beaten on his first three career starts before winning by a neck on his handicap debut when fitted with first time cheekpieces.
The progressive four-year-old has improved with each start this season with victories at Doncaster, Yarmouth and Newcastle with his most impressive success coming last time over this course and distance when a 2 ½ length winner off a mark of 70. An 8lb rise will make this more difficult but he is thriving at present and should prove hard to beat with Callum Rodriguez, who is 1/1 on him, back on board.

This looks a high-class renewal of the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes but a chance is taken on the progressive Juddmonte filly BLUESTOCKING (best priced at 5/1). The Ralph Beckett trained four-year-old has been a model of consistency in her career with form figures of 123242211 and she has been unbeaten on both of her starts this season.
Bluestocking won a Group 2 on her reappearance by six lengths before defeating Emily Upjohn by ½ length in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes last time despite conceding first run to her opponent. She ran well over this course and distance when 2nd by a neck on her final start last season and with cheekpieces back on I feel she can upset the boys in receipt of 3lbs.
