16:45 Goodwood
GYTO Notebook Double for Wednesday 31st July
Goodwood 4.45 Coto De Caza (2/1)
Sioux Nation filly COTO DE CAZA was an expensive purchase at €270,000 and she is starting to pay back some of that price tag winning impressively at Beverley earlier in the month. She came there on the bridle and then quickened clear easily to win by 5 lengths. She is obviously open to further improvement off the back of that and as long as she handles the track I think she should have a great chance to follow up and make it 2 wins from 3 starts.
Xanthe looked a classy filly making a winning debut at Ascot beating the boys. She was by no means disgraced in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot beaten 4 and a half lengths into sixth and with more to come looks the biggest danger. The rest all need a fair bit of improvement to get involved but Blue Zodiac could do better and is also noted.
17:45 Sandown
Sandown 5.45 Debora’s Dream (2/1)
After running a big race at Goodwood on return DEBORA’S DREAM improved again to win at Nottingham last time. His form is stacking up as that reappearance run has produced two winners since in Swindon and Dashinwhitesargent and the third from Nottingham Bill’s Baar has gone close at York denied just a nose so it is all working out well. He is up 5lb but has more to come yet and I can see this track playing to his strengths too.
Cabinet Of Clowns showed a good attitude to win at Windsor last time but I think that track suits him better than here and nudged up 3lb he might need to find more to come out on top again. Nivoko was left poorly placed at Ayr and had been in good form prior to that so is another one to note.
13:50 Goodwood
Value Tip for Wednesday 31st July
Goodwood 1.50 Lord Of Love (5/1)
The way Kieren Shoemark rode LORD OF LOVE at Newmarket last time suggests they think a fair bit of the horse. He was switched off early and still had a lot to do a couple of furlongs out but came through strongly and then showed a good attitude to pull away in the closing stages. I know the runner-up Wonder Kid has disappointed since but he had excuses at Ascot and the fourth Spaceport has won since so I do think it’ll work out okay in time. He is 4lb higher but can still improve further and looks good value.
Goodwood Odyssey was a couple of places behind the selection at Newmarket but has still only had the 5 starts so could easily be the one to chase him home. French Duke is still a maiden after 4 starts but in a first-time hood might settle better and run well so watch the market on that one. Subsequent is another one going the right way and the yard won it last year with The Goat.
