Evelyn's Phoenix appreciated a change of tactics to make every yard of the running at Carlisle earlier in the month and it would be dangerous to dismiss him off a 2lb higher mark. However, the vote goes to LORD WARBURTON, who produced a huge shock when scoring by over two lengths at Pontefract last month and he followed that up with a fair third over 1m4f here last time. The drop in trip looks like a good move, while Irv is another to keep an eye on.
Prediction : 1st Lord Warburton 2nd Evelyns Phoenix 3rd Irv

Lakers took a pleasant step forward from his debut effort when justifying favouritism over 6f at Ffos Las earlier in the month, and he could improve further for this step up in distance. However, he could find it tough to give weight away to LAZY GRIFF. Charlie Johnston's juvenile only found one too good on his debut at Doncaster last month before finding the Chesham at Royal Ascot too big of an assignment next time. If he can build on his first start, then he could be the one to beat. Newcomer West Tyrone warrants a market check.
Prediction : 1st Lazy Griff 2nd Lakers 3rd West Tyrone

CUGINI had Lunar Force (third) just over a length behind when finishing second over 6f at Catterick recently and he sets the standard in this contest with a rating of 72. The son of Land Force can confirm his superiority over Lunar Force and go one better. As for the latter, she had Atherstone Beau (third) behind when she hit the crossbar over 5f at Catterick on her penultimate start and is very much the main danger. Forager completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Cugini 2nd Lunar Force 3rd Forager

JAMIH has undoubtedly been hard to win with over the last couple of seasons but finds himself on a very tempting mark as a result. A close second over 1m2f here eight days ago, the Tina Jackson-trained gelding can go one better with the step back up in trip rated a positive move. Dr Rio and Three Platoon finished third and fourth respectively in that aforementioned race and might again find themselves having to settle for a supporting role.
Prediction : 1st Jamih 2nd Dr Rio 3rd Three Platoon

SOUL SEEKER went agonisingly close to retaining his 'Jump Jockeys' Nunthorpe' crown at York on Saturday and rates a logical choice turned out quickly on the back of that improved effort. Miss Brazen is put forward as the chief danger given she runs of 3lb lower than her C&D win from last season, although the same stable sends out Doctor Vuby with a reasonable chance given he is still of very low mileage.
Prediction : 1st Soul Seeker 2nd Miss Brazen 3rd Doctor Vuby

The consistent Blufferonthebus is an obvious starting point after she notched a gutsy C&D win a fortnight ago. A 5lb higher mark is fair and another bold showing is likely. Fellow C&D winner Sunny Orange was hampered when sixth in that race and enters calculations. However, CATTON LADY has been given a chance by the handicapper and can strike after a respectable third in a slightly deeper race over track and trip last time.
Prediction : 1st Catton Lady 2nd Blufferonthebus 3rd Sunny Orange
