Noodle Mission arrives here seeking a hat-trick after wins at Newmarket and over 1m at Chelmsford, but a 6lb rise in the ratings may leave him susceptible to some better treated rivals. Therefore, a chance is taken on BARBAPAPA, who ran well when second over 1m at Naas in June and should he settle better, he could give Henry De Bromhead a rare success at this venue. The consistent Red Hat Eagle is also likely to offer a bold bid, while Benacre could be a player.

ANDALEEP was a very unlucky loser when a half-length second over 1m2f at Yarmouth last week and this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better. Daniel and Claire Kubler's charge was repeatedly denied a clear run on that occasion and with a bit more luck in running, he could take the beating off an unchanged mark. Better can be expected from Stockpyle, who disappointed when seventh over 1m at Ascot last time but he was only beaten two and a half lengths and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back. Mighty Nebula completes the shortlist.

DUKE OF OXFORD took a step back in the right direction on his return to the all-weather when finishing third in the Northumberland Plate last time and a 2lb rise is unlikely to inconvenience the four-year-old. Dropping back in trip may also benefit Michael Bell's gelding, along with the booking of Saffie Osborne. Intellotto may well have been unlucky not to win at the Curragh in late June and the extra couple of furlongs here appear likely to benefit his cause. Oneforthegutter and Reaching High appeal most of the remainder.

KING'S LYNN has been a model of consistency this season, with his Newcastle second to the progressive Wiltshire in late June being the strongest of those displays in 2024. Willem Twee concedes 9lb and upwards to his rivals but he placed in the Chipchase behind Montassib last time and looks a major threat now back in handicap company. Bosh went close at Chester last time which entitles him to be in the mix, while Rhythm N Hooves and Daamberdiplomat complete the shortlist.
