LOTUS ROSE hasn't tasted success in over a year but her handicap mark reflects that. She has been by no means disgraced recently, though, and the drop into a class 6 contest could spark an improved performance. A drop to the minimum trip might suit Poetic Jack, who showed up well for a long way over 6f at Wolverhampton last month before weakening inside the final furlong. The Grey Lass is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Lotus Rose 2nd Poetic Jack 3rd The Grey Lass

User Amistoso sets the standard with an official rating of 85 and he should make a good fist of things back in novice company, while Gulf Legend is another leading contender dropped in grade and has blinkers applied for the first time. However, although CATCH THE LIGHT was no match for a 101-rated rival at Salisbury last month, there is unlikely to be anything of a similar ilk lining up today and she's taken to step forward.
Prediction : 1st Catch The Light 2nd Gulf Legend 3rd User Amistoso

The form of BARAQ's last two runs in novice company have worked out well and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to record a breakthrough success. That said, Skipper has shown promise on both of his career starts at Newmarket and must enter the reckoning on this all-weather debut. Shamran was always well positioned when finishing second at Windsor recently and he remains of interest with further progress likely.
Prediction : 1st Baraq 2nd Skipper 3rd Shamran

MR SQUIRES scored in smart fashion at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start but he followed that effort up by finishing stone last at Chester last time. That display was too bad to be true and he could easily bounce back to record his third C&D victory. The main threat might be Orbital Chime, who wasn't disgraced when fifth at Thirsk on his latest outing and he will appreciate this drop in grade. King's Vanity is another to note in a first-time hood.
Prediction : 1st Mr Squires 2nd Orbital Chime 3rd Kings Vanity

Sondad shed his maiden tag at the third time of asking at Ripon on his latest outing and it will be interesting to see how he fares off an opening mark of 71. However, SANAT looks the way to go. Roger Varian's charge has shown a fair amount of ability in his three starts so far this year, with his best effort coming when he finished fourth at Doncaster last time. The son of Invincible Spirit has since undergone wind surgery and he looks potentially well teated off 69 on his handicap debut. Pals Battalion looks best of the rest.
Prediction : 1st Sanat 2nd Sondad 3rd Pals Battalion

Run This Way failed to complete the four-timer when she was beaten into fifth in a class 4 event at Carlisle last time, but she was dropped 1lb for that effort and would be foolish to dismiss. However, the vote goes to MAGIC GEM, who justified favouritism when recording a double at Wolverhampton on his latest outing and, off only a 3lb higher mark, he could prove very hard to beat again. Blackjack can pick up any pieces.
Prediction : 1st Magic Gem 2nd Run This Way 3rd Blackjack
