15:20 Thirsk

Many of this field are struggling for recent form but that isn’t the case for LE BEAU GARCON (best priced at 2/1) who has run well on all three of his starts this season. The Michael & David Easterby trained five-year-old finished 3rd on his reappearance at Catterick behind recent Goodwood winner Tatterstall before winning over this course and distance by ½ length off a mark of 72 on his next start.

Le Beau Garcon finished 2nd beaten only 1 ½ lengths at Musselburgh last time off this mark of 75 and he should prove hard to beat back at Thirsk where he has form career form figures of 231.

The David & Nicola Barron trained PERSUASION (best priced at 13/2) has been inconsistent this season but he should prove hard to beat if replicating the form of his recent Doncaster 2nd. The seven-year-old was once a high-class performer who was rated as high as 99 but he has gradually dropped down the ratings over the last couple of seasons.

The form of Persuasion was good early this season when 6th behind Noble Dynasty, English Oak and Dark Thirty at Newmarket before chasing home English Oak when 2nd at Haydock off a mark of 88 on his next start. He disappointed on his next two starts at Hamilton and Newmarket but bounced back to form with a 2nd placed effort at Doncaster when only beaten a head off a mark of 86. The handicapper has only raised him 1lb and he should run well back over this course and distance that he won over in September.

16:10 Goodwood

Connections of QIRAT (best priced at 4/1) decided to miss the Golden Mile on Thursday in favour of this contest over 7f and he should be able to reward them in this weaker race. The Ralph Beckett trained three-year-old won over this course and distance on his reappearance off a mark of 88 before finishing 6th and 5th in competitive handicaps over a mile at Royal Ascot and the July meeting at Newmarket.

Back down in trip to 7f where he won two of his three starts, Qirat looks sure to run well up to five places available.

17:20 Goodwood

Dutch Decoy is respected if turned out quickly following his 2nd yesterday but preference instead goes to NATIVE WARRIOR (best priced at 17/8) ran caught the eye when 3rd at Royal Ascot on his handicap debut. The Karl Burke trained three-year-old finished 4th behind 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech on his reappearance at Kempton before getting off the mark at Nottingham in a maiden over 1m½f.

Native Warrior outran odds of 22/1 to finish 3rd in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot when staying on strongly to win his group on the nearside shaping like this step up in trip to 1m1f should suit. With a more prominent ride from Stall 1, he can hopefully get back to winning ways off only 3lbs higher.

19:40 Hamilton

The Jim Goldie trained JORDAN ELECTRICS (best priced at 9/4) has been in fantastic form this summer with form figures of 12111 and he can hopefully make it a record breaking ninth success at the track. The eight-year-old has only tasted defeat once recently and that was at Ayr with his other four victories all coming at this track over both 6f and 5f.

Jordan Electrics now drops back in trip to 5f which is no concern and he should be able to make all under regular rider Paul Mulrennan from Stall 1.
