I’m slightly surprised to see KODENZA back in trip here given how well he stayed on for third here last time. Even so that is form that has been franked since with the winner Sondad following up on handicap debut at Southwell on Friday. I think he showed enough speed to get away with it and with improvement to come this could be a good chance for him to get his head in front.
Caribbean Wind was disappointing having been well backed at Leicester so has a bit to prove but given the lack of strength in depth she could still be the danger. Doralee is another one respected.

I know HEAVENS GATE was well backed at Newmarket last month and she failed to deliver somewhat but she was only actually beaten a length and a half.
That form is working out well with the sixth Tales Of The Heart running well in Group company at Ascot since. She has more to come and in these calmer waters I think she’ll be the one to beat. This is a nice pot to win so she should be spot on for it.
Midnight Strike disappointed in the Coventry at Royal Ascot but had looked promising before that so could bounce back with a big run and be the danger. Morning Vietnam won at Cork last month and is another one to note.
