Many of this field are struggling for recent form but preference goes to WOOBAY (best priced at 5/2) who won over this course and distance on her penultimate start. The Danny Brooke trained five-year-old has shown improved form since joining from the Phillip Makin stable this season and dropping to 5f.

Woobay finished 2nd at Ayr beaten only ½ length before winning over this course and distance by a head off a mark of 66. She finished 4th beaten only a length in the “Jump Jockeys’ Nunthorpe” last time off this mark of 68 and she should prove hard to beat off the same mark.

The Dermot Weld trained ZARAGOZA (best priced at 7/2) won on his handicap debut last time at the Curragh and despite now returning from another short break, he should hold strong claims of following up off a 7lb higher mark. The four-year-old finished well beaten on his first three starts but improved for a gelding operation to win on his handicap debut off an opening mark of 58.

A 7lb rise for a ½ length victory is harsh but the unexposed four-year-old shaped like this step up in trip to 7f would suit him well. Chris Hayes retains the ride he is expected to follow up despite the cheekpieces being taken off for this race.

With three wins from his previous four starts, HAVANA PRINCE (best priced at 10/3) should hold strong claims of adding another course and distance victory in this race. The Tony Coyle & Kaine Wood trained three-year-old won over a mile here in May off a mark of 59 before following up over the same course and distance by ½ length off a mark of 61.

Both of those victories came in Class 6 company and Havana Prince then put in his only slightly disappointing effort in Class 5 company here on his penultimate start before winning again in Class 6 company at Redcar last time. He runs here off top weight in this Class 6 0-65 handicap and should prove hard to beat from Stall 2.
