Beautiful Crown can get involved once more after filling the runner-up spot at Haydock last month, as can the similarly consistent Charlie's Choice, for all that he may currently be in the grip of the handicapper.

HEAT OF PASSION was an impressive winner on her handicap bow at Southwell last week and although this looks a little deeper, it will come as no surprise if Sir Mark Prescott's filly is up to defying the penalty. Historic City was just denied over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton and is of obvious interest from 1lb higher, while handicap debutant Windcrack warrants closer inspection from an opening mark of 72.

Dalmally sets the form standard having finished third over 6f here on his debut in June. He will need to break alertly if he's to negotiate stall 12, however, so it might be worth taking a chance on CHESNEYS CHARM. A creditable fourth on his racecourse bow at Leicester, the drop to 6f didn't play to his strengths next time but it might be a different story returned to further and from his low draw. Troubadour Blue is also noted.

METRO DUBAI struggled in the Chesham at Royal Ascot last time, but his debut second at Leicester was very encouraging. Back down in grade here, the son of Elarqam could be hard to stop on his first outing since being gelded. Green Icon is entitled to improve having gained some experience when sixth on his racecourse bow at Nottingham, while City Captain and Nebrook Dream are two newcomers to note.

TWILIGHT JAZZ has been narrowly denied on both starts since her Beverley success in July and it would be no surprise to see the in-form filly return to winning ways here. That said, Kondratiev Wave is a consistent performer who may give the selection plenty to think about, while Maverick Style edges out Heerathetrack and Northbound to be the pick of the remainder.

In a trappy affair, FLY LIBERTY FLY gets a tentative vote for the in-form Marco Botti team. The daughter of Ribchester performed with credit in a warm novice event at Yarmouth and it would be no surprise if she had enough in the locker to score on her nursery debut. Top Star also looks a good prospect for handicaps and might be the main danger, although this step back to the minimum trip is an interesting move for Son Of Wind so he is respected.

FAI FAI bounced right back to form when scoring gamely at Salisbury and, upped 3lb, he gets the vote to bring up a double. The consistent Doves Of Peace holds solid claims of at least hitting the frame off a sliding mark and Placepot players may be looking to keep him on side. La Verite's current form leaves something to be desired, although an improved showing in the first-time cheekpieces/tongue tie combination would come as no surprise.
