GYTO Notebook Double for Thursday 8th August
All 3 starts from MR MONACO this season have been promising and I think he has a lot more to come over this trip. He went down an eye-catching second beaten just a length at this track on penultimate start and then backed that up on first crack over a mile and a quarter beaten just a length and a half into third at Newmarket. He is up 3lb from that but his form is stacking up and this stiff finish should be right up his street. He could prove difficult to beat with the yard in good form too.
Solomon shaped better than the bare result on return at York and then made the most of a good opportunity at Haydock at the weekend. He could be the danger if turned out quickly. Touch The Moon is also unexposed and is another one who could run well.
19:30 Chepstow
Chepstow 7.30 Walter Hartright (5/2)
I can see the winning run continuing for WALTER HARTRIGHT here. He has taken his form up a notch in recent starts landing a brace of victories at Beverley before completing the hat-trick over track and trip last month. He improved again to make it a four-timer at Yarmouth last time and even 7lb higher here you wouldn’t rule out him notching up another win. He won with plenty in hand again last time so the rise isn’t too concerning. He has relished the forward tactics so I expect them to be aggressive again and it will be catch me if you can.
Lieber Power showed a good attitude to win at York and then went down just a nose to Great Bedwyn at Newbury last time. The latter is well handicapped and ran well beaten less than a length by Align The Stars at Glorious Goodwood at the weekend so he is the danger. Wahraan is also in form and is respected too.
