William Haggas' colt beat the subsequent Group 2 runner-up Seagulls Eleven on that occasion and could be a cut above these on that form. Tiete improved when runner-up over 6f here last time but one of the newcomers may prove a bigger threat. Of those, Fifth Column makes most appeal as a half-brother to Royal Marine, who won a Group 1 as a two-year-old, while Calla Lagoon, Sheikh Raj and River King are others worthy of a second glance.

The Kingman gelding landed the odds in a novice race at Newmarket with the minimum of fuss last month and can shrug off a penalty. Al Ameed refused to settle when fourth at Yarmouth on his debut, but this shorter trip and a first-time hood should help on that score, while Running Spirit looks another likely improver stepping up in distance and is preferred to Groovy Baby.

SWORD looked the most likely winner for a long way when a narrow second in a warm novice event over a mile at Newmarket last month, pulling clear with the eventual winner. Although questions could be asked about his attitude on that occasion, it may pay to keep the faith with the son of Kingman. Better can be expected from the habitually keen-going Ghaihaban in a reapplied hood and she may emerge as the main danger, while Radiant Beauty warrants a second look on her stable debut after a solid second last time out.

Beeley has already shown a useful level of form and the daughter of Camelot must enter calculations on the back of a runner-up effort in a similar contest here last month. That said, she may be vulnerable to the unexposed SEA JUST IN TIME. William Haggas' charge looked a filly of considerable ability when readily showing her rivals a clean pair of heels over 1m2f at Newmarket on her debut and she retains bundles of potential, despite a disappointing effort last time. Nowhere is also considered.

Cases can be made for plenty of these but none more so than WARMONGER, who has won both of his starts since being upped to 2m last month. A 5lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop the son of Camelot here.
