UK Horse Racing Tips: Wexford

BURVEA had been off three months before running on the Flat at Ballinrobe where she had a troubled passage. That outing will have advanced her fitness and David Broad's charge has a decent chance on the pick of her hurdles form which includes a Ballinrobe second and a creditable third behind the subsequent Fred Winter runner-up in a Punchestown handicap. Kimy didn't land a blow when out of the handicap in a competitive contest at Galway but wasn't beaten far against geldings in a Cork maiden on her previous start and was second in a big field at Punchestown in June. Struck By Churchil has twice run well on the Flat since going close in a maiden hurdle in May.

DEPECHE MO has yet to strike but has a good record at Wexford and will benefit from Aidan Kelly's 5lb claim. Eric Larkin's gelding was twice placed in similar contests here last year and again ran well when fourth at this venue in May. Tried in various headgear before, he goes without any aids here and will appreciate a return to hurdling after a spin over fences didn't work out last time. The Empty Kettel showed much improved form when fourth over C&D last month and any improvement on that will see him involved. Onebrightbluerose and Grizabella were winning for the first time over hurdles when landing divisions of a C&D handicap just under a fortnight ago and both have to enter calculations.

BALLYCOMMON CHAPEL went down by only half a length when second in a C&D contest on handicap debut last month and may be capable of going one better. Dick Donohoe's mare probably had her stamina stretched over a longer trip at Kilbeggan last time and should appreciate the drop back to this distance. Amateur-ridden Granpa Ger was an eye-catcher in a higher grade over 2m4f here last month. Coming back in trip is possibly not ideal but he looks a threat to all with Danny Mullins in the plate on this occasion. Getaway Henry was a big-priced winner over C&D last time and the runner-up franked the form when just denied at Cork on Monday.

Third on his chasing debut over course and distance last month, WATCH THE WEATHER has every chance of improving a couple of places. A winner over hurdles at this track, the eight-year-old clearly acts around here. Granted normal improvement from that promising introduction the Ray Cody-trained gelding holds strong claims. Ballybawn Belter would have been just about the best of these over flights so has to be of serious interest if taking to fences. Liz Doyle is sure to have the mare primed for this race at her local venue. Point-to-point winner Sam Magee is another that is well capable of playing a leading role. Although pulled up on his only previous start over the larger obstacles, the gelding had won over hurdles here in April.

A bumper winner at this track, HAZELHATCH LADY has been highly tried in her last three starts over fences. Having run in two graded races and a Listed chase, the grey should appreciate this far lesser task. Runner-up in her only point-to-point start, the seven-year-old has the scope to adapt to chasing and this represents a much more realistic opportunity. Twice a winner over hurdles, the James Fahey-trained mare can race off 5lb lower here. Fourth over the minimum trip here last month, Warm In Gorey should appreciate stepping back up in distance. Philip Rothwell's gelding was keeping on late having been outpaced when the leaders pressed ahead. Malton Grove, who was third over course and distance last time, should again be capable of getting involved.

A distant third here on his reappearance last month, HARVEY'S QUAY should be straighter now with that run under his belt. The Edward O'Grady-trained eight-year-old made much of the running before weakening from three out. If stepping forward from that effort, the Fame And Glory gelding could be hard to pass. Sea Aster had the benefit of three recent outings when keeping on nicely to take second in that aforementioned race. Gordon Elliott's six-year-old has to be a leading contender once again for her in-form trainer. Galway winner Favori Logique arrives here in rude health so has to be involved if over his recent exertions. The Ross O'Sullivan stable couldn't be in better form at the present time.

Recent course and distance winner FREDDIE ROBDAL can double up here under Diarmuid Moloney. Although raised 6lb for that latest success in an opportunity race, the seven-year-old effectively only carries an additional 3lb here as his jockey can claim his full allowance. Falcon Park has been hit with a 9lb hike for also winning his latest start over course and distance. However, the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding was probably full value for that win as he had to survive a very bad mistake at the final fence. Paul Flynn's Rightfolksplease was sent off market leader for that aforementioned race but departed early. Granted a clear round, the Policy Maker gelding should be very competitive under Kevin Sexton.

Killarney runner-up TIME IN A BOTTLE can open her account on just her third start. The Henry De Bromhead-trained filly is nicely bred, being a half-sister to a Grade 3 winner over fences. Having shown considerable improvement from her debut to finish second last time, there must be every possibility that the four-year-old can progress further. Willie Mullins always commands respect in these races, so the champion trainer's representative, Korinthia, has to be a contender on her debut. Out of a winning mare, the Jukebox Jury filly is certain to know her job. Point-to-point winner The Great Nudie showed plenty of promise when third on her Rules debut at Tipperary. It would be no surprise to see the Colin Bowe-trained filly take a hand in the finish.
