I’m going to take a chance on one on Friday in the shape of REALISE THE DREAM at Thirsk. This filly by Magna Grecia hasn’t shown a huge amount in 3 starts to date but she is bred to be pretty useful and she has looked one for handicaps. An opening mark of 66 may well prove lenient and at a double-figure price she definitely catches the eye.
Trainer Alice Haynes has only had 3 winners from 29 handicap debutants this season but the place statistics fare much better. From those 29 runners 7 have placed which is a 24% strike rate so you can see why she is worth a bet in an open nursery like this.
