SOUTH PARADE (best price 9-1) did about as well as could be expected from her stall position over today’s C&D last time out and having been handed a potentially more favourable draw on her return to the Yorkshire track, Richard Fahey’s filly comes into the conversation as one of the likelier winners.

Housed in stall 1 here two weeks ago, her pilot made the instant decision to race down the middle of the track while her six opponents hugged the stands side fence and although she kept on well enough to suggest the choice to go solo wasn’t a total misread, she ended up unable to cope with two who prove too strong on the day.

She did, however, walk away with her best time figure tucked away under her arm and now taking on a bunch of horses reflective of her drop down in grade (from class 5), the daughter of Invincible Spirit can reward each-way support.

ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE (best price 5-1) walked out of the gates here two days ago with another solid run around the southeast circuit to her cv and under similar conditions, Pat Cronin’s mare can once again acquit herself with credit.

The application of blinkers for the first time resulted in instant success for the five-year-old mare on her previous outing and for majority of the two-mile journey on her return visit, she looked as she was going to repeat the dose. Always handy in the breakaway pack of three, she finally succumbed to the closers after jumping the last, but she still managed to finish well clear of the rest and it was an effort to indicate she remains in good shape.

Seemingly happy to let her take her chance again just 48 hours after that solid performance, her fitness edge and overall track knowledge should play into her favour.
