BETSEN hasn't built on his promising runner-up effort at Listed level in April, from which his high rating derives, but he ran well enough last month and has been gelded in the interim. That recent Navan form isn't overly strong but the comfortable winner did win subsequently and dropping back in distance, wearing first-time blinkers might help as he travels quite well in his races. Keen-going White Clover was well held by a smart type at Cork recently and drops to this distance for the first time. Pansy Poe is proven over this distance and should run her usual race. Returning Red Hugh O'Donnell raced in a tongue-tie on debut and is now tried in cheekpieces.

NOUVEL ESPOIR's form has been a little in-and-out this year but nonetheless has shown nice ability. Ideally suited by this distance, the form of his recent Curragh placing has worked out well as the runner-up scored subsequently and, being just a four-year-old, he might continue to progress in sprints. Reinforce dead-heated at Down Royal when completing a double in July and while his rating has climbed back up to 75, he was rated 80 as a juvenile and is well suited by fast ground. Course-and-distance winner Realtin Fantasy was well held at Down Royal last month but had previously again run well on today's track in early July, and should compete.

ECSTATIC ran with promise on debut and should progress. Out of a blue-blooded American Group 1 winner, she was outpaced from halfway at Leopardstown but finished nicely and will be more streetwise today. She passed Murkala in the final furlong then and while Murkala had previously run well in a smart Curragh maiden in June, the selection is open to more progression and should confirm placings. Continuite is from a fine Juddmonte family, is a half-sister to a Group 3 winner and having also held an engagement for Saturday's winners' race at the Curragh, is probably well regarded. However, she lacks experience competing against the smart-looking selection.

Consistent JANUARY drops in grade having finished a fine third at Group 2 level in June. Her maiden form is smart, she returns from a mini-break having run at the Curragh and on a strict form line with fourth-placed Barnavara, holds today's rival maiden Senna's Girl, who finished behind that horse at Group 3 level last month. Green Triangle was one of the unluckiest losers of all time when running out at Killarney last month and now steps up to stakes company for the first time. His form is strong though, as Killarney's well-beaten fourth-placed Lady O effortlessly scored from a rating of 75 at Galway. Beckman might find one or two too strong.

SHARE THE TREASURE showed big improvement last month and might now progress further. Out of an Italian Listed winner, she is sometimes slowly away from the stalls and indeed missed the break at Gowran when racing from a poor draw in 17. She showed nice ability, however, and with similar conditions, she should compete. Saffredi has been running well in handicaps and reverts back to racing against his own age group. He is well suited by conditions and while nonetheless frustrating to follow, his rider claims 5lb which will help. Lightly-weighted trio Finsceal Annie, Poppy Pimento and With Annie Luck finished second, third and fourth in a recent Killarney handicap, with With Annie Luck being 7lb-claimer ridden today.

Ross O'Sullivan continued a highly successful season with four winners at Galway last week and LONGBOURN may keep up the good work. The eight-year-old gelding has reached new heights this term and probably put up a career best when successful over this trip at Leopardstown last time. Star Harbour recorded a fifth career win in the valuable Ragusa Handicap over 1m4f at the Curragh on Irish Derby day but may find this trip a little sharp, while Smooth Tom is a useful dual-purpose gelding and beat all bar Chazzesmee in the Irish Lincoln this spring. The lightly raced Wigmore Street didn't enjoy the clearest passage over a mile at Naas and has scope for improvement.

AVONDALE was given a handicap mark after running over shorter trips and, following a promising reappearance when switched to hurdles at Punchestown, showed he gets 1m4f well when narrowly denied by Miss Paloma at Dundalk last month. The booking of Aine O'Connor adds to confidence. Evening's Empire gave Alexandra Egan her first winner in a thrilling finish at Down Royal with Not Just Any Eagle, whose rider lost her irons in the final furlong, close up in third. Jody Townend is a significant booking on Black Soul who seemed to appreciate some cut in the ground when runner-up in this race 12 months ago, while Bold Approach is a solid contender over this trip.
