GYTO Notebook Double for Sunday 11th August

Leicester 2.00 Power Of Twins (9/4)

There is no doubt POWER OF TWINS is improving with experience and but for jockey error she would have won at Bath last time. She showed a useful change of gear to sweep to the front under Alec Voikhansky but he clearly thought he had the race won as eased up and was nailed on the line. It was unfortunate on the day but in hindsight it was a still big run and the winner Lovestruck Romeo looks a nice horse too so the form should work out well in time.

The danger here is likely Al Waseela who has only had 3 starts but should find this easier and will improve at some point. Washington Dancer is capable of better and is another one who could get competitive.

16:40 Ripon

Ripon 4.40 Degale (9/4)

It was pretty obvious DEGALE needed his debut run both physically and mentally. He was sent off 100/1 and finished nearer last than first. He was much sharper up to a mile last time and was beaten less than 2 lengths despite being sent off 300/1. This son of Due Diligence clocked a decent speed figure in defeat that day too and if improving again as expected could take a lot of stopping under an in-form Callum Rodriguez and looks value against the favourite.

Bursinel was a good fourth at Windsor last month and is likely to go off favourite for this and does look the danger. He looked a bit one paced so should appreciate coming back down to a mile here. Of the rest Versatile has switched yards and is definitely another one to note.
