The Owen Burrows trained JARRAAF (best priced at 6/4) was an impressive winner over this course and distance last time and he should hold strong claims despite an 8lb rise from the handicapper. The three-year-old is unbeaten over 6f in his career and beat a solid yardstick in Fresh last time.

The fact Billy Loughnane rides Jarraaf in this race is a huge positive and he should prove hard to beat from Stall 6.

The Sweet Solera Stakes is not a race that Aidan O’Brien usually targets so it seems significant that he sends LAKE VICTORIA (best priced at 6/4) over this year. The extremely well bred daughter of Frankel made a winning debut at the Curragh beating Red Letter by a head and that rival has since boosted the form with a 4 1/4 length success on her next start.

Aidan O’Brien had previously run Ylang Ylang, Tuesday, Snowfall, Love, Rhododendron, Happily and Alice Springs in that Curragh maiden so it is a race he targets with his classic fillies for next year and hopefully Lake Victoria can prove herself to be a future Group 1 performer in this race.

SOLOMON (best priced at 6/4) disappointed on his reappearance this season at York but has looked a potential group level performer on his previous starts. The William Haggas trained gelding finished 3rd behind Notable Speech at Kempton before justifying strong market support to win at Haydock on Sunday by 3 3/4 lengths in an apprentice handicap.

Now ridden by Alberto Sanna, Solomon gets to run here off the same mark of 85 which should prove over 5lbs “well in” at the weights when his rating is adjusted on Tuesday and he should provide his jockey with a first UK success.

The Sir Mark Prescott trained APOSTLE (best priced at 15/8) gets into this 0-60 handicap at the bottom of the weights and she should prove hard to beat on her handicap debut. The unexposed three-year-old caught the eye in her three starts this season over trips of 7f and a mile but should be much better suited by this step up in trip to 1m6f for the first time.

An opening mark of 56 could seriously underestimate this well bred filly and I expect her to get off the mark in this race.
