A drop in trip might not be his ideal scenario, although there appears to be plenty of pace on show and, if ready to roll following his absence, this could set up perfectly for the son of Frankel. Phoenix Passion dead-heated with a subsequent winner when completing a four-timer at Kempton in June so a 3lb rise looks fair, while recent York scorer Theme Park must also be feared.

Lord North was far from disgraced in the Prince Of Wales' last time out and the talented eight-year-old merits respect in these calmer waters. Certain Lad arrives having bolted up in a Listed event at Compiegne in June. Third behind the reopposing ANMAAT in this two years ago, he might prefer a bit of cut in the ground and the latter is fancied to uphold that form. Owen Burrows' gelding landed the Prix d'Ispahan when last seen in May 2023 and, having gone well when fresh previously, he is very much the one to beat.

KING'S SCHOLAR was outpaced over 1m at Ffos Las recently and, with plenty of stamina on the dam's side of his pedigree, he is expected to progress upped further in trip. The winner has since run with credit at Goodwood recently so he must hold every chance from an unchanged mark. Yaajooz is now 3lb higher having cruised to victory over 1m at Thirsk last month and will be an obvious contender should his stamina hold out over this longer trip. Others to note include Lake Teo and Amancio.

Trainer Ralph Beckett has won the last two runnings of this race and looks for the hat-trick with Beverley fourth Golden Myrrh, who can do better if she settles here. Salamanca Lad has won his last three starts, showing a willing attitude each time, but another 4lb makes his life more difficult and top-weight REMOJI is preferred. She makes her handicap debut here after a running-on third at Chelmsford over seven furlongs and is expected to benefit from stepping up to a mile.

Three-year-olds have not had the best of records in recent years but there is every chance that INDELIBLE can buck the trend. Officially the highest-rated filly, she gets 7lb from her elders and after finishing second in Listed company at Sandown last month, she arrives in good form for the Beckett stable. Maiden winner American Arrow impressed here with a four-length win and she could be anything, while Choisya may do better on a sounder surface.

Autumn Rose is the only course and distance winner in this field after she scored by a head last month, but she has an added 4lb from the handicapper which may catch her out. MERESIDE MADNESS wasn't at his best last time when ninth in a better race at York, but this is his trip and he looks more than capable of going well once more in this weaker company. Straight A and Oligopoly are others to consider in a wide-open contest.

Julie Camacho sent out last year's winner and is represented by TRIGGERMAN, who was denied victory by only a neck when runner-up at Doncaster and can go one better racing off a similar mark. Beechwood Star showed definite signs of a return to form when also finding one too good at Doncaster and can have a say in proceedings, while Profit Street warrants respect back on turf despite a 4lb rise for winning at Newcastle last week. Both Mister Mojito and Byzantine Empress return to this longer distance with a shout.

PERSUASION looks the safest proposition on the back of a couple of placed efforts over today's distance. He was beaten only a head at Doncaster last month and a repeat bid may well prove good enough in this company. Boardman has a bit to find with the selection on running at Town Moor but could still land a blow, while Ascot third Burdett is facing a more difficult task in this higher grade, but makes more appeal than the likes of Finn's Charm and Street Kid.
