GYTO Notebook Double for Thursday 15th August

Salisbury 3.00 Triumph Of Peace (11/4)

Only half the field here have run before so watch out for any market movers involving the debutants but of those with experience TRIUMPH OF PEACE could prove hard to beat. This filly by No Nay Never has been a work in progress. She clearly needed the run when down the field on debut at Haydock but that is a race that has worked out well since which is encouraging. She was then only beaten 2 lengths into third at Lingfield so if improving again should be going close now. The step back up to 7f will suit and she has plenty going for her.

Upscale ran well bumping into Forever Blue at Haydock but then disappointed when well backed at Chester. That track can catch inexperienced fillies out though so if bouncing back she could still be the danger.

18:40 Chelmsford

Chelmsford 6.40 Stanley Spencer (9/4)

The money came for STANLEY SPENCER at Kempton on penultimate start and he made no mistake always finding enough to get on top at the finish. He could only finish fourth at Wolverhampton last time but the race wasn’t run to suit and he did come home strongly and was only beaten a length and a half. The winner Thunder Blue has since finished third to Jarraaf in a good race at Ascot so in my eyes the form has been franked. He is off the same mark and should be hard to beat.

Union Island is unexposed and got off the mark at Musselburgh last month. He was entitled to win that though and back in handicap company and back up to 6f might be left vulnerable. That could leave Scarboroughwarning as a bigger threat as she could have lots more to offer now handicapping.
