The form of DEL RAY's debut success has worked out well and, given that she had excuses when pitched into Listed company next time, Archie Watson's filly could bounce back under a penalty. That said, there are plenty of interesting newcomers that could give her something to think about, including Pinatubo filly Maybe Not. Ralph Beckett has his yard in fine form so it would come as no surprise were she to be involved, while others to note include Inquisition, Elwateen and Orchid.
Prediction : 1st Del Ray 2nd Maybe Not 3rd Inquisition

The Eyes Have It bolted up on her debut at Yarmouth last month and she is an obvious starting point, despite having to shoulder a penalty, but it is DANCING SAPPHIRE that shades preference. Outpaced over 6f at Salisbury on her first start in May, Andrew Balding's string often come on for that initial experience and she could follow suit now stepped up in trip. Raheena sets the standard with an official rating of 79 and must enter calculations, while Angel Rose warrants a market check ahead of her racecourse bow.
Prediction : 1st Dancing Sapphire 2nd The Eyes Have It 3rd Raheena

An open event in which only a tentative vote can go to LIR SPECIALE. Stuart Williams' five-year-old has been out of luck on turf recently although when racing on the all-weather, he's been competing at a higher level than this. The Prince Of Lir gelding is now 5lb below his last winning mark and this could be a good opportunity. Brasil Power often goes well around here and he is considered, along with Double Time and Zero Carbon, with the latter sporting first-time blinkers.
Prediction : 1st Lir Speciale 2nd Brasil Power 3rd Double Time

CITY OF YORK dead-heated for fourth in this grade at Newmarket last month and the son of Cityscape was dropped 1lb for that effort. David Simcock's four-year-old is a previous C&D winner and it would be no surprise to see him put his best foot forward in this contest. Dutch Kingdom (first) beat Ring of Light (third) in a class 5 event at Lingfield on his penultimate start and he can confirm that form to have a say, while Al Rufaa isn't one to write off at this level.
Prediction : 1st City Of York 2nd Dutch Kingdom 3rd Al Rufaa

Phoenix Passion completed the four-timer when dead-heating over C&D and he holds an obvious chance off 3lb higher. However, GRACIOUS LEADER may put an end to his winning sequence. Roger Varian's three-year-old justified short odds after being gelded on his handicap debut at Lingfield last month and could have plenty more to offer, so he can defy an 8lb rise. Nap Hand hit the frame at Windsor last time and completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Gracious Leader 2nd Phoenix Passion 3rd Nap Hand

THE BAY WARRIOR has produced two solid efforts to hit the frame the last twice, including over 1m3f here on his penultimate start. Mark Usher's six-year-old remains on the same mark and could be the one to beat. Outgun only managed sixth at Newbury on his latest outing but he is an interesting contender up in trip off a 1lb lower rating. Of the remainder, Golden Dove makes most appeal.
Prediction : 1st The Bay Warrior 2nd Outgun 3rd Golden Dove

20:30 Kempton

BUXTED TOO has a lot going for him with six wins over this sort of distance, five of those on the all-weather including one over track and trip. His latest win was on the Windsor turf in June off just 2lb lower and he clearly ticks a lot of boxes, though Luna Effect looks a big danger back up in trip on his second start for the Moore's. He may get the better of Rockit Tommy, who needs to recapture his three-year-old form.
Prediction : 1st Buxted Too 2nd Luna Effect 3rd Rockit Tommy

Anisoptera may prove popular here with her three C&D wins and running off exactly the same mark as her latest success in April 2023. She could surprise a few, but her recent form is not as good as the July second of SOPHAR SOGOOD, who ran on strongly over 1m6f at Wolverhampton. African Star drops in class and is worth monitoring in the betting market.
Prediction : 1st Sophar Sogood 2nd Anisoptera 3rd African Star
