Cugini sets the standard on official ratings so enters calculations, although City Captain hinted at ability on his introduction at Chelmsford and, as a half-brother to a handful of winners, is potentially more of threat to the selection now he has experience to draw upon.

Glamorous Joy got off the mark with a cosy win at Salisbury, although further improvement is necessary off an 8lb higher figure. Midnight Lir is preferred off his current rating having placed on his last couple of outings, but CARIBBEAN WIND may prove the one to side with. The Bated Breath filly won a novice race at Ripon with the minimum of fuss and makes her handicap debut with George Bass taking 3lb off her back. Glitterella and Little Miss Magic could prove best of the rest.

Beaten in a tougher race at Sandown latest, MONKS MEAD drops back down in class having missed out by only a neck over C&D on his penultimate start, and Mark Usher's colt should go close again with a similar effort. Romanovich will find life more difficult raised 7lb for winning a classified event at Brighton, and On Song looks a bigger threat after taking a handicap at the latter track with plenty left in the tank.
