Despite being a 0-105 fillies’ handicap, DESIGNER (best priced at 9/1) runs here off top weight and she should hold strong claims of completing a hat-trick of wins in this race.

The John Butler trained five-year-old won this off a mark of 87 in 2022 before winning off a mark of 92 last year. She returns from 319 days off the track having had a wind operation over the winter and is now fitted with a first-time tongue tie.

Designer has a good record after a break having won after a 188 day break and a 61 day break before finishing a close 4th on her reappearance last season in a listed race behind the once 110 rated Happy Romance. Brandon Wilkie takes off a handy 5lbs this year and she looks sure to run well with up to five places available off mark of 96.

Advised Bet: Designer 9/1 (0.5pt ew)

The Diane Sayer trained REDARNA (best priced at 9/2) is a four-time winner at Carlisle and he bids to win this race for a second season in a row.

The 10-year-old won this race off a mark of 86 last season by 1 ¾ lengths before finishing 3rd here in May off a mark of 87. The handicapper had dropped him down to a mark of 81 when winning a 0-85 handicap over this course and distance last time and the handicapper has only raised him 1lb.

Redarna now drops into this 0-80 handicap off a top weight of 82 meaning that he is 4lbs lower than this race last season. With Gina Mangan once again claiming 3lbs, he looks sure to be involved in the finish with up to four places available.

Advised Bet: Redarna 9/2 (1pt ew)

18:50 Kempton

This looks a competitive 0-85 handicap but preference goes to AMPHIUS (best priced at 7/2) on his handicap debut based on the strength of his form this season.

The Harry Charlton trained colt finished 4th behind the 121 rated Economics on his debut before finishing 2nd by ½ length behind the 104 rated Indelible. He then conceded first run to the 95 rated Roi De France last time at Windsor so he has to be well handicapped off an opening mark of 87.

This switch to the AW is a question mark for Amphius but from Stall 5 he can hopefully settle better than last time and get off the mark at the fourth attempt.

Advised Bet: Amphius 7/2 (1pt)
