MESSERSCHMITT brings an 83 Flat rating to hurdling and has the size to do well in this sphere. Out of a half-sister to a Group 1 winner and a debut dead-heat winner last October, he has since run well in some smart races and it is encouraging that he debuts so early in the juvenile-hurdle season, suggesting he has schooled well. Ceol Draiochta ran well on career debut at Ballinrobe. That form has yet to be properly tested, with those involved at the business end showing just modest prior Flat form, but he has an experience edge. Solar Drive has done well on the level, will stay NH distances, and should also take well to hurdling for an in-form yard.
Prediction : 1st Messerschmitt 2nd Ceol Draiochta 3rd Solar Drive

MIGHTY TOM finished fifth in the recent Galway Hurdle and, with his rider's 7lb claim, is now 6lb better off with Icare Desbois, Fascile Mode and Kings Hill. The keen-going selection wasn't fully inconvenienced by that race's very ragged start - being a hold-up horse - but finished really well and has a good course record here. Unlucky May course loser Icare Desbois lost ground to the leaders at the start in the Galway Hurdle but also finished reasonably well, although isn't weighted to turn placings with the selection. Quirky keen-racer Je T'ai Porte reverts to hurdles rated 21lb lower in this sphere, with her rider also claiming 5lb, but has won just once from 11 timber outings.
Prediction : 1st Mighty Tom 2nd Icare Desbois 3rd Je Tai Porte

PAGGANE was effectively brought down at the Galway Festival and had previously shown useful form in winning over a similar distance at Kilbeggan. She disappointed at Grade 1 and Listed level earlier this year but has a light weight and is ground-versatile, while the form of her recent Kilbeggan success has worked out quite well. Stablemate Femme Magnifique finished third at Galway and rises in distance, while the progressive Beaufort Scale steps out of maiden hurdle company for the first time. Drumgill was officially rated 105 when winning three consecutive recent races (albeit winning the latest when carrying a 7lb penalty), but concedes plenty of weight.
Prediction : 1st Paggane 2nd Femme Magnifique 3rd Beaufort Scale

STUZZIKINI is a dour stayer who has been running well recently and is suited by a sound surface. A dual hurdle winner, he has been beaten four times over fences but has bumped into capable types and while a beaten favourite at the Galway Festival, contests a lesser race here. Topgun Simmy won over hurdles in June and ran well at Galway, but debuts over fences against more experienced rivals. Nt Field Minnesota disappointed in two recent runs and while clearly no star, is nonetheless capable of better and has point-to-point experience. Cossack Chach receives a four-year-old allowance, but was well beaten on his recent chase debut. Caesar Rock is tried in a first-time tongue-tie, but is a 14-race chase maiden.
Prediction : 1st Stuzzikini 2nd Topgun Simmy 3rd Nt Field Minnesota

It is encouraging that Jack Kennedy rides at a reasonably light weight on GENERAL HUBBLE, who debuts for Gordon Elliott. Winner of an ordinary Market Rasen hurdle last November, his form tailed off thereafter and he was later sold for just 3,500 pounds. He made jumping errors on his sole chase start but, being just a six-year-old, could better his current low rating. Ex-Elliott and UK-trained Brandt won on debut for new connections at Roscommon, scoring in a first-time hood. His 9lb rise has been offset by his rider's 7lb claim and he could be suited by this longer distance. I Am Spider Man climbed the handicap ladder over hurdles and while he hasn't featured in two chases, possesses a low rating.
Prediction : 1st General Hubble 2nd Brandt 3rd I Am Spider Man

It isn't ideal that LAKE CHAD has a quick turnaround after Sunday's success, but he won quite easily and is suited by this distance and good ground. His form can be quite in-and-out but while he carries a 7lb penalty, he is officially 1lb well-in, with today's rider also claiming 7lb. If he can replicate his Tramore form, he has a big chance. Lucky Policy ran well at Wexford recently and while he appears reasonably exposed, he is just a six-year-old so might progress a little further. Harvey's Quay was hampered at Wexford recently, is reasonably capable at this level, and is notably just 2lb higher than when winning at last September's Listowel Festival.
Prediction : 1st Lake Chad 2nd Lucky Policy 3rd Harveys Quay

MOUNT FRISCO returns following a mini-break and might continue his good progression. He had a busy spell earlier this year and while now 10lb wrong with Dutch Schultz following their meeting at Clonmel in February, he showed improvement thereafter - twice finishing a Listed-runner-up - although he was out of his depth in a Grade 1 when last seen in May. Dutch Schultz had been running consistently well prior to a recent Flat run at Galway, but reverts to fences now and should show that prior form. Similarly, stablemate Mister Wilson was well held on the Flat at Galway and while he is a seven-race maiden in this sphere, has good placed form behind some useful types.
Prediction : 1st Mount Frisco 2nd Dutch Schultz 3rd Mister Wilson

ARUNTOTHEQUEEN returned from 386 days off this year and has run well in two recent winners' bumpers. She received plenty of weight behind the winner at Tipperary in May but, at Punchestown, again ran well, with the well-held sixth-placed Parga Diamond scoring recently. Parga Diamond finished behind Steppingstone at Ballinrobe last month - which loosely ties together both runners. Steppingstone is descended from a top Coolmore family, but is now a six-year-old. Point-to-point winner Sporting Glance is out of a Grade 1-placed mare and ran well when finishing second to a 200/1 winner at the Galway Festival. He clearly has ability but, as yet, that form is nothing special. Friary Road's dam won a Listed bumper at his current age.
Prediction : 1st Aruntothequeen 2nd Steppingstone 3rd Sporting Glance
