Riding arrangements suggest TOUNSIVATOR is preferred of Willie Mullins' two runners and the dual-purpose gelding can gain compensation after a very narrow defeat in a valuable handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival. The French import won a 25-runner Naas maiden hurdle earlier this year and was just headed on the line by Volantis at Ballybrit. Stablemate Ninth Titan easily made all in a Tramore maiden but may find this a bit sharp having stayed on well last time when runner-up to Donnie Devito in a 2m4f Galway novice. Al Gasparo impressed when making all in a Killarney maiden, but the point-to-point winner was soundly beaten last time at Galway.

WRECKING BALL PAUL likes to force the pace and opened his account in good style here last year. The free running son of Jet Away added two wins on the Flat at Dundalk earlier this year and, having been pegged back in the closing stages at Ballinrobe last time, could be dangerous if getting away from his rivals around this tight circuit. Riyami has gained all three wins over two miles on the polytrack at Dundalk and rates a threat having beaten all bar Shraheen over hurdles here in June. Angelworknovrtime opened her account in no uncertain manner over C&D last month while others to consider include Sargent Lightfoot, The Truant and Arcland.

MAGELLAN STRAIT is a smart stayer on the Flat winning four times, notably when defying odds of 150/1 in last year's Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh. The son of Australia hasn't jumped fluently when placed on both hurdle starts over this trip including here last month with Native Speaker close behind in third, and hopefully he'll have benefitted from that experience. Downpatrick bumper winner Uncle Pat likes to be up with the pace and has shown promise in two maiden hurdle starts, while Irina's Path has filled the runner-up spot twice since transferring to Gordon Elliott this year and now steps up in trip.

Le Grand Vert, KADYS DIRHA and Ballydangan filled the first three places over this trip at Roscommon earlier this month and it may pay to concentrate on that piece of form. The winner was having his first start for current connections and could progress further, but Kadys Dirha gets the nod having come from well off the pace. Joe's Turn won both point-to-point starts for Richie Rath and has joined Mark McNiff following a promising third over 2m4f here on his chase debut under Rules. Singing Banjo has enjoyed his finest hours over the banks at Punchestown and the veteran comes here after landing the La Touche for the second time this year.

THE SHORT GO made a successful switch to fences over three miles at Clonmel last autumn and after reappearing over hurdles, again advertised his chance on just his second chase start when third to Railway Hurricane over probably an inadequate 2m3f at Wexford last month. Menindee's five wins include a handicap chase over a similar trip here last summer and the David Christie-trained mare reverts to fences after a couple of recent hurdle outings. Macgiloney's 11 career victories include a bumper and 3m1f hurdle at this venue and he was also second to the odds-on Run For Oscar here last time.

ON CLOUD WINE represents the champion trainer and has plenty to recommend him on pedigree being by Sea The Stars out of a winning daughter of Marju. The five-year-old cost 80,000 euro at the Derby Sale in 2022 and is a half-brother to three winners. Leave In Secret was placed twice in maiden hurdles and again filled third spot when prominent throughout in the 2m2f Galway bumper won by Brave Crogha earlier this month. Bayrann and People Pleaser are another two newcomers to note in the market while Miss Dishy and Cailin Deas have shown some promise.
