The John & Sean Quinn stable had a fantastic York Ebor festival with both of their runners Jm Jungle and Breege winning at 10/1 and 33/1 and hopefully STAY IN THE GAME (best priced at 5/1) can continue the good form. The three-year-old has improved with each of his three starts including when only beaten ¾ length by Dambuster over this course and distance.

Despite that rival being well beaten on his next two starts, an opening mark of 80 looks lenient for Stay In The Game and he can hopefully get off the mark at only his fourth attempt.

Recent form figures of 000 are uninspiring for RHOSCOLYN (best priced at 9/1) but he should relish these conditions in a bid to win this race for a second year in a row. The David O’Meara trained six-year-old has always shown his best form at Goodwood with form figures of 1237310110 but if you isolate those to performances on worse good to soft or worse it reads 1231011 with his only disappointing effort coming when badly hampered in the Golden Mile last season.

Rhoscolyn won this race off a mark of 91 before following up a month later off a mark of 94. He won at Epsom off a mark of 97 and he runs here off only a 2lb higher mark. Back on soft ground, he looks sure to run well with up to five places available.

17:20 Goodwood

This looks a competitive 0-90 handicap but preference goes to the top-weight TEMPORIZE (best priced at 4/1) who has a good record at this track. Now officially in the care of Anthony Charlton, the five-year-old won over 2m4f here a year ago finishing a close 2nd over this course and distance on his reappearance behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner Pledgeofallegiance.

Temporize could only finish 8th when bidding for a repeat victory here earlier this month but he should be well suited by this return to softer ground. Kevin Stott, who rode him on his reappearance, is back on board and he should make a bold bid from the front.
