The step up to a mile and a quarter seemed to bring out the best in STAY IN THE GAME over C&D when last seen. This son of Too Darn Hot was beaten less than a length at the line and given how keen he was through the race that was a good effort. I marked it down in my notes as a performance you could mark up and now handicapping off an opening mark of 80 if he is fit and ready to do himself justice he should go close.
John and Sean Quinn have had 2 winners and 8 placed efforts from 19 handicap debutants this year which has returned a healthy profit so he could be the way to go. The market seems unsure what to make of him at the time of writing but hopefully there is some support in the run up to the race as that would only enhance confidence given his unexposed profile.
