LADY FLORA (best price 10-3) has soon established herself as a reliable conveyance over today’s C&D and if the numbers from her latest exploits are any guide, she looks set to add another positive result to the two she’s already garnered.

Always prominent on her first visit to the Welsh track, she skipped away in the latter stages to score in facile fashion and although she found one too good in the shape of Great Acclaim when returning to the same C&D last time out, there was no shame in chasing home a horse who has been in terrific form all summer.

Moreover, the competitiveness of the race and speed figure suggested it was a huge step forward by Andrew Balding’s filly and hailing from a yard who have had 14 winners in the last fortnight, the only thing likely to prevent her from adding to that tally is her tricky draw (presuming the runners come over towards the stands side rail).

WINDING RIVER (best price 10-3) could ideally do with slightly further than today’s trip, but he has such a tremendous record around the unique slopes of this venue, he might prove good enough to overcome that impost.

A largely consistent performer since fitted with the tongue tie, Oliver McKiernan’s inmate has also been versatile under both disciplines and with his latest two efforts suggesting he is very much in the zone over fences, another solid run looks on the cards.

Indeed, his latest display when chasing home all-the-way winner The Dara Man at Kilbeggan was backed up by a very useful speed figure and with form figures at today’s venue of 13212, the seven-year-old should be dialled in to add to those impressive stats.
