After falling when favourite at Newton Abbot in June, HUELGOAT makes most appeal. Rated 116, Paul Nicholls' charge is clear of these on official ratings and he should be difficult to beat with a more polished round of jumping. Yellow Car is feared most after getting off the mark at the first time of asking under Rules at the same venue and he can continue his progression, while Ballydesmond heads the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Huelgoat 2nd Yellow Car 3rd Ballydesmond

Emanate ran with credit when second over 2m4f at Worcester last month and he can give another good account, but a 3lb rise in the ratings may leave him susceptible to some better treated rivals. Therefore, a chance is taken on NASTASIYA, who shaped as if this extra yardage would suit when running on well to take third over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen on her latest start over timber. Fenney Brook could also hit the frame.
Prediction : 1st Nastasiya 2nd Emanate 3rd Fenney Brook

GLYNN was an impressive winner over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last Thursday and a repeat of that effort could see him take this slight step up in class in his stride. That was a fine performance and he shaped as if a 7lb penalty can be within reach. Ajp Kingdom is feared most, while An Tailliur has been off the track for 500 days but he is a useful operator worthy of respect.
Prediction : 1st Glynn 2nd Ajp Kingdom 3rd An Tailliur

CALSHOT SPIT lost little in defeat when finishing fourth in a warm novice event over C&D in July and, on the back of a comfortable victory on the Flat earlier this month, he gets the vote to make his handicap hurdling debut a winning one. Malina Ocarina scored in cheekpieces (retained) over an extended 2m2f here last month and a 4lb rise for that performance doesn't discount her, while better can be expected from Greenways on his handicap bow.
Prediction : 1st Calshot Spit 2nd Malina Ocarina 3rd Greenways

JO'S RAINBOW belied lengthy odds to finish third in a novice event over C&D last month and it would be no surprise if she were able to land the spoils now making her handicap debut. The last time Ocean Heights raced over hurdles he finished third off this mark over 2m at Ffos Las in May and he should be thereabouts with a repeat of that effort. Mary's rating continues to fall and she merits a second look in a bid to arrest the slide.
Prediction : 1st Jos Rainbow 2nd Ocean Heights 3rd Mary

Rotten Row impressed when bolting up over 2m5f here on his penultimate start and, after shaping like he was still in good heart when fourth over the same trip at Cartmel most recently, he must enter calculations. That said, GREY SKIES showed up well for a long way before fading late on when second over 2m5f at Cartmel on his penultimate start. Easing in trip on his first outing since undergoing wind surgery, this might be the day to catch him off what looks a workable mark. El Borracho is also noteworthy.
Prediction : 1st Grey Skies 2nd Rotten Row 3rd El Borracho

GREAT D'ANGE had the race sewn up a long way from home when winning over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last week and appeals strongly turned out under a 7lb penalty. This slightly longer trip can play to the strengths of Invictus Allen, who also impressed landing a novices' handicap at Uttoxeter last month and he can give the selection the most to think about. Sammylou and the first-time visored Honey I'm Good complete the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Great DAnge 2nd Invictus Allen 3rd Sammylou

RONNIES RULES has already comfortably won two similar races over this C&D and is hard to oppose in a bid to round out the hat-trick. Fiskardo is another must for consideration after his close third on debut in a bumper at Uttoxeter last month. Of the newcomers, Presenting Milan has a solid pedigree and on that basis, is nominated as the pick of the rest.
Prediction : 1st Ronnies Rules 2nd Fiskardo 3rd Presenting Milan
