I know BARAQ isn’t the only one making his handicap debut here but this Frankel colt really catches the eye given his unexposed profile. He has been running well over shorter trips and was last seen at Southwell over a mile where he just looked tapped for toe. He goes up to 1m3f for his first start in handicaps and a mark of just 82 may well prove to be lenient.
Sir Mark Prescott has done pretty well with handicap debutants this year with a near 14% strike rate and 27% place strike rate. This colt already looks to be attracting support and even the 11/4 could come under pressure.
