Andy Holding is back with two tips for today’s horse racing.

MY GIFT TO YOU (best price 10-3), other than one poor effort when not jumping well at Fakenham, has run to a consistent level for the thick end of a year and with the form of his latest exploits at Worcester advertised by his conqueror subsequently, James Owen’s gelding has every chance of adding to his winning tally during that time frame.
Having jumped the last at the Midland venue with a decent advantage, the six-year-old seemed likely to land win number six since joining his current handler but unfortunately for his supporters, along came Oliver’s Travels to spoil the party close home.
Despite that agonising defeat, he did come out of the race with a career high speed figure and having gone well on his only previous outing over today’s course, the combination of both factors makes him an enticing proposition at the morning odds.

CALDWELL (best price 7-2) hasn’t been the most reliable of characters in the past but since switching to new connections he does seem to be a bit more consistent and at a track where he has gone well in the past, Jenny Candlish’s inmate has a decent chance of adding to his previous C&D success.
An instant hit at the Midland venue last December over two miles, the seven-year-old returned two months later to follow up over half a mile shorter and even though he hasn’t managed to add to his collection on the Flat since, he did pop up again on his latest assignment over hurdles.
Clocking a useful time figure when quite impressive at Worcester (fourth won at Stratford on Tuesday) he didn’t run too badly on his latest start on back on the level at Newcastle 28 days ago and with today’s flatter track and surface seen as a more suitable option, he can add further success to a stable in a rich vein of form at present.
