After showing next to nothing on her first two starts SPRING definitely shaped with more encouragement up to this trip at Chelmsford last time. She was just too keen to get involved but she looked the type to do better with her attention turned to handicaps now.

Trainer Richard Hughes has done well with handicap debutants this year with seven winners and 13 placed efforts from 34 runners. The 4/5 for her to hit the frame looks a great bet and I expect even the 4/1 to come under some pressure come post time.

The drop back to sprinting could spring this 5yo back to life. He hasn’t been disgraced this season running well in some good races and should find this easier so makes plenty of appeal.
Worcester 3.10 Happy Du Mesnil (11/4)

Back over fences this horse has progressed well building on a good run at Market Rasen to bolt up at Southwell. Even in defeat the last twice he has run well so back over hurdles here having been freshened up he should have a decent chance.

I was impressed with that C&D win last time and if repeating that he should have a great chance to follow up despite a 5lb rise. Likely to be ridden forward and might always be in the box seat.

That was a big run to go down just half a length at Tramore last time and if building on that should have a great chance to go one better against these. Good chance of making the trip over worthwhile.
