Steve Ryder has picked out four horse racing tips for Tuesday’s horse racing and lined up a third selection for tomorrow’s card at Kempton.
14:00 Chepstow
2:00 Chepstow- Redredrobin 11/4 (1pt)
This 0-78 handicap looks a great opportunity for REDREDROBIN (best priced at 11/4) to get back to winning ways. The Malcolm Saunders trained seven-year-old has a superb record over this course and distance in handicaps with form figures of 12131 in his career. His latest victory came on his penultimate start when winning by a length under Joe Leavy before finishing a neck 2nd at Epsom on his next start off a mark of 70.
Redredrobin runs here off the same mark in this race but crucially now returns to his favoured course and distance. Callum Hutchinson is by far the best apprentice riding in this race and that should mean that Redredrobin can record his fourth course and distance victory of his career.
15:30 Goodwood
3:30 Goodwood- Jakarta 17/2 (1pt)
The market for this nursery is dominated by last time out winners Where’s Clare and Lady Luzon but I am willing to take a chance on the Paul & Oliver Cole trained JAKARTA (best priced at 17/2) at a double figure price. The daughter of Night Of Thunder was sent off only 9/2 for her debut at Newmarket behind Mountain Breeze before winning over this course and distance on her next start.
Jakarta was disappointing on her next start under a penalty when she apparently didn’t handle the surface at Kempton before racing too keenly at Newmarket once again over 7f. She now drops back in trip to 6f which looks a good move and it is interesting that she is now fitted with first time blinkers in this race. Rossa Ryan, who rode her on her debut, is back on board and she can bounce back to form at this track.
18:15 Newcastle
6:15 Newcastle- Brunello Breeze 17/2 (0.5pt ew)
The Tom Tate stable is having a good season and everything looks in the favour of BRUNELLO BREEZE (best priced at 9/1) who should relish this return to Newcastle. The five-year-old has form figures of 1411 at the track in his career with his record over this trip of 1m2f as two wins from two starts. He won comfortably off a mark of 63 in February before finishing 6th beaten only 2 ¾ lengths from 1lb out of the handicap off a mark of 69 at Southwell on his next start.
Following a 139 day break, Brunello Breeze has disappointed on his next two starts but now runs back at his preferred track off a mark of 66. Tom Eaves deputises on board but he should run well with up to four places available despite coming from Stall 11.
18:30 Southwell
6:30 Southwell- Cliffcake 6/1 (0.5pt ew)
Recent course and distance winner King Of Ithaca is respected but a chance is taken on CLIFFCAKE (best priced at 6/1) who looks well handicapped on his return to Southwell. The Roy Bowring trained six-year-old is a four-time course winner here off marks of 67, 70, 70 and 73. His latest victory came in March over 6f before disappointing back on turf when sent off odds of 40/1, 22/1, 20/1 and 28/1.
As a result, Cliffcake has now dropped back down to a mark of 70 so he is clearly well handicapped and should hold strong claims with Lewis Edmunds, who hasn’t been on board since his victory here in March, back in the saddle.
19:00 Kempton
Horse Racing Tips for Tomorrow
Wednesday 7:00 Kempton- I Maximus 5/2 (1pt)
It is surprising to see Macedonian forecast to be favourite against I MAXIMUS (best priced at 5/2) who caught the eye when 3rd in a strong race on his debut at Newbury. The Richard Hughes trained colt was sent off a well supported 5/4 favourite for his debut where connections booked Oisin Murphy for the ride.
The son of Zoustar finished 3rd that day behind two horses who had the benefit of experience and his run can be upgraded as he reared at the start.
A non-runner when well fancied a maiden at the Qatar Goodwood Festival when Ryan Moore was booked, he should get off the mark here with Oisin Murphy once again on board.
