Mercury Day looks set for another big effort with Jim Crowley booked to ride by Conrad Allen after she came home a weakening third over further in a better race at Lingfield. She may prove the biggest danger to SO LOGICAL, who was successful in a 0-90 handicap at Newmarket in May off just 1lb lower. Although beaten three times since, she tries blinkers, which may help her back to winning ways. Queen's Reign, third to Mercury Day at Newmarket, is another to consider now dropping back in trip.

Siegen was rated 86 after winning at Sandown but has struggled since, although dropped to 80 now, he has every chance of a much better run. Alashos is the only distance winner in the field, but has been held on both starts since that Lingfield triumph and it may pay to side with JR CLIMBS. A winner at Bath in July and a solid fourth in a class two at Ripon on his first start after being gelded, he is entitled to find this level much more to his liking.

The Glen Rovers opened his account over 1m2f on his handicap bow at Newcastle and is likely to be involved if seeing out the distance. C&D winner Dark Mystery is also noted.

With the third having subsequently opened his account at Lingfield recently, BOXTEL's latest second at Newmarket is working out well. A similar performance may prove sufficient for Jane Chapple-Hyam's colt and he rates as the one to beat. Bolo Neighs has also filled the runner-up berth on both starts to date and he may serve the most resistance to the selection, although market support for 260,000gns debutant Fondo Blanco must be explored.

Supreme King is versatile regarding the ground and is dangerous to underestimate on these terms, while Capote's Dream warrants scrutiny back at this trip off 7lb below his last winning mark.
