Steve Ryder has picked out two horse racing tips for Monday’s horse racing and lined up another selection for tomorrow’s card at Lingfield.
15:30 Brighton
All five runners look to hold claims in this 0-62 handicap but preference goes to SECRET HANDSHEIKH (best priced at 10/3) who has a good record at Brighton. The John Gallagher trained six-year-old has form figures of 23121351 over this course and distance including a 3 ¼ length success in this race last season off a mark of 64.
Secret Handsheikh was an impressive 8 ½ length winner on his previous start here in August off a mark of 54 and he should still prove well handicapped off a mark of 63 in this race.
16:05 Brighton
The soft ground is a question mark for a lot of these but it will be disappointing if INSHAD (best priced at 13/8) cannot reward punters who keep the faith after his frustrating defeat last time. The George Boughey trained gelding showed very little on his first three starts but was well supported to make a winning handicap debut off a mark of 53.
Inshad bumped into a horse running from 13lbs out of the handicap that day with the pair pulling 3 ¼ lengths clear of the third. He will no doubt prove “well in” at the weights when reassessed by the handicapper tomorrow morning and should prove hard to beat off the same mark.
17:35 Lingfield
Tuesday - 5:35 Lingfield- Kalamunda 9/4 (1pt)
This looks a weak 0-70 handicap and it should provide KALAMUNDA (forecast to be priced at 9/4) a perfect opportunity to remain unbeaten on the AW. The Joe Parr trained gelding is 3/3 on the AW in his career but 0/8 on turf so it came as no surprise to see him win comfortably a week ago at Southwell having disappointed on turf recently.
A winning margin of 1 ¾ lengths doesn’t show the dominance of Kalamunda and he should prove hard to beat under a 5lb penalty rather than his revised mark.
