Steve Ryder has picked out two horse racing tips for Wednesday’s horse racing and lined up another selection for tomorrow’s card at Doncaster.
16:15 Lingfield
Time Tested 6/4 (1pt)https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/lingfield/16:15/winner
The likes of Calanthe and Apache Canyon are respected on their handicap debuts but there is no doubt that TIME TESTED (best priced at 6/4) is the form pick. The Michael Bell trained colt disappointed on his first three qualifying runs but has since had form figures of 121 in classified and handicap company.
Time Tested won over this course and distance last time by ½ length off a mark of 57 with the pair pulling two lengths clear of third. The handicapper has raised him 4lbs for that victory which is fair and he should hold strong claims of following up from Stall 3 with Daniel Muscutt (1/1 on the horse) back on board.
16:50 Lingfield
Whoop Whoop 2/1 (1pt)
This looks a weak 0-68 handicap and it could prove the perfect opportunity for WHOOP WHOOP (best priced at 2/1) to follow up her recent course and distance success. The Tom Ward trained filly was once rated as high as 77 when trained by Ralph Beckett but had dropped down to a career low mark of 58 when 3rd beaten only ¾ length here on her penultimate start.
Whoop Whoop got off the mark at the thirteenth attempt last time when fitted with first time cheekpieces where she made all to win by two lengths. She actually runs here 1lb “wrong” at the weights under a 6lb penalty in this race but it would be disappointing if she didn’t follow up.
15:35 Doncaster
Thursday- 3:35 Doncaster- Oxford Comma 8/1 (0.5pt ew)
Three-year-olds have won the last four renewals of the Park Hill Stakes and I am going to take a chance on OXFORD COMMA (best priced at 8/1) with connections willing to ruin a handicap mark of 94 by running in this Group 2 contest. The Ralph Beckett trained filly only ran once as a two-year-old when 3rd on debut but has been impressive winning both of her starts this season. She won by 3 ¾ lengths at Salisbury on her reappearance before following up here over 1m4f under a penalty last time by three lengths.
Oxford Comma stayed on well that day shaping like this step up in trip to 1m6½f should suit and she can hopefully take this step up in class in her stride with Rossa Ryan deputising for the banned Hector Crouch.
