Steve Ryder has picked out two horse racing tips for Sunday’s horse racing and lined up another selection for tomorrow’s card at Windsor.
14:25 Curragh
2:25 Curragh- Lumiere Rock 16/1 (0.5pt ew)
This is an open renewal of the Blandford Stakes with Joseph O’Brien having a strong hand with American Sonja, Rogue Millennium and LUMIERE ROCK (best priced at 16/1).
The four-year-old was an impressive three length winner of this race last season in first time cheekpieces and has been campaigned exclusively in Group 1 company since.
Lumiere Rock has finished behind Blue Rose Cen, Inspiral, White Birch, Bluestocking and Opera Singer in those starts and despite Dylan Browne McMonagle deserting her, at the prices she looks the obvious play with four places available.
14:47 Longchamp
2:57 Longchamp- Opera Singer 4/1 (1pt)
Bluestocking and Sparkling Plenty are respected in a strong renewal of the Prix Vermeille but preference goes to OPERA SINGER (best priced at 4/1) who should relish this step up in trip.
The Aidan O’Brien trained filly won the Prix Marcel Boussac at this course last season and has progressed with each of her three starts this season having had a hold up over the winter.
The form of her 2nd behind Porta Fortuna at Royal Ascot has been boosted since as has her Nassau Stakes victory over See The Fire who has won at York since.
This step up in trip to 1m4f should suit and she is expected to give Aidan O’Brien back-to-back victories in this race following the victory of Warm Heart last season.
17:15 Windsor
Monday 5:15 Windsor- Notre Maison 4/1 (1pt)
I am surprised NOTRE MAISON (forecast to be priced at 4/1) isn’t expected to be favourite for this race as I expect her to prove hard to beat. She was an impressive 3 ½ length winner over this course and distance on her penultimate start when fitted with a first-time visor and she finished a close 3rd last time at Chepstow last time off this mark of 58.
The Stuart Kittow stable are in good form currently with a 33% strike rate in the last two weeks and Notre Maison should appreciate this return to Windsor. A mark of 58 shouldn’t prove beyond her and she should prove hard to beat with Rob Hornby retaining the ride.
