Already a three-time winner at Tramore, Mater Matuta is sure to prove popular with punters. A versatile performer, she still looks nicely treated off a mark of 104 and it'll be disappointing if she's not involved towards the business end. Just Jacob galloped his rivals into the ground when making all here last month. Since third at Ballinrobe on Friday, it'll come as no surprise if he manages to take this. Disappointing since her win here in June, handicap debutant Purse Price warrants respect with Jack Kennedy aboard, while recent Downpatrick victor Ricky Langford is another leading hope.

It might be worth taking a chance on OCHOCINCO in this open affair. The lightly-raced six-year-old was successful on debut at Down Royal last year and showed promise on his debut over fences at Kilbeggan in June. Entitled to come on plenty for that experience, he should be able to make an impact in a contest of this quality. Gordon Elliott saddles both The Friday Man and Shajak. While disappointing of late, the former is a five-time winner and might be able to bounce back here on his return to Elliott after a stint with Moses McCabe. A step up in trip could prove ideal for the Willie Mullins-trained Iris Emery and she warrants the utmost respect with Paul Townend aboard. The returning Iriskana, chasing debutant Bigira and Edward O'Grady's Ceroc are others to consider.

The former is one of three chasing debutants in the line-up, while the point-to-point winning latter has plenty of experience over the larger obstacles to his name. Admirable veterans Greenway Machine and Smitty Bacall both look to have solid claims, while Ocodango Boy is another capable of making his presence felt. For a selection, it might be worth siding with the locally-trained ROCK ON PEDRO. The subject of market support when a close fifth on his fourth try over fences at Wexford last month, he is open to further improvement. A dual winner when in the care of Michael Hourigan Jr, The Holmeister is another of interest on his debut for Eoin McCarthy.

Not beaten far by two higher-rated geldings at the County Mayo circuit, she looks to have a much easier task on her hands now. Picture Of You is sure to prove popular with punters, but the drying ground is a cause for concern. The daughter of Authorized has some strong form to her name and recently filled the runner-up spot at Kilbeggan. Polly Poppins should be able to make an impact in a first time hood, while others of note are Scotcantou, point-to-point winner Cresthill and the Gavin Cromwell-trained Kazakh D'arthel.

BRIDESWELL LAD may be worth siding with here on his return to action off an attractive hurdles mark. The Shirocco gelding is a better horse over fences but has to be of interest reverting to the smaller obstacles off a 35lb lower rating. This trip is probably a bit short but the 144-rated chaser has a touch of class against these rivals. Mountain Port sprang a shock in a maiden hurdle here last month. He has to be respected but a mark of 116 looks tough enough. There are a few other previous course and distance winners in the field and Inchiquin Star could be place material.

HE'S ULTIMATE ran in some very strong maiden hurdles last winter and takes a significant drop in class on his return to action. The Champs Elysees gelding's best run was probably his worst placing, when sixth at Down Royal on St Stephen's Day. He has shown enough to win a race of this standard. There are a couple in here with marks of 99. Truckers Cruising ran well for a long way here last month and could play a big role. Michal's best run came when fourth here on his penultimate outing and he's another for the shortlist.

MAX TIME landed a gamble in Galway nine days ago in fine style and he may be able to follow up. The Policy Maker gelding pulled away on the run-in then to score by five-and-a-half lengths and a 7lb rise for that performance doesn't look harsh at all. Beechroad Winnie has been knocking on the door and was second on her last visit here. She had Scottish Dancer back in third when chasing home Cruisin Susan here last month and both those horses have to be contenders again. The pair have both finished second since, Scottish Dancer actually turned out again the next day at this venue.
