Electric Eddy 11/4 (1pt)

Therapist is respected on her return to hurdling but she was beaten last time off a lower mark so preference goes to ELECTRIC EDDY (best priced at 11/4) who should prove hard to beat if in the same form as nine days ago. The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained six-year-old had run with credit earlier this year in handicap hurdles but showed dramatic improvement off the back of a 59 day break to win by a comfortable five lengths last time at Worcester.

The handicapper has raised Electric Eddy 7lbs for that victory but because it was in a conditional jockeys’ race, he gets to run here off the same mark. James Turner retains the ride but can now claim his full allowance of 7lbs and he should prove hard to beat.

Got No Dollars 17/2 (0.5pt ew)

Calanthe will no doubt be popular under a penalty but I am willing to take a chance on GOT NO DOLLARS (best priced at 17/2) who has a solid profile at Kempton. The Stuart Williams trained six-year-old is a three-time course winner in his career with a further six placed efforts at the venue. He was last seen here when a short head 2nd in July off a mark of 59 before winning at Chelmsford over this trip last time under Sam Feilden by ¾ length off the same mark.

Got No Dollars runs here off a mark of 61 which we know he can be competitive off (won off marks of 67 and 62 in 2022) and he looks sure to be involved in the finish of this race.

Saturday- 3:55 Newmarket- Tactician 13/8 (1pt)

Hayley Turner and Andrew Balding combined to win the Cesarewitch trial last season with the progressive three-year-old Grand Providence and I am hoping they can do the same this year with TACTICIAN (best priced at 13/8). The grey colt got off the mark in a Goodwood maiden before winning an Ascot handicap over 2 miles off a mark of 86 in July.

Tactician was well fancied for the competitive Melrose Handicap at York where he finished a solid 6th off a mark of 91. Connections now fit him with first time cheekpieces in this race and he should be able to beat his more exposed older rivals.
