Calyx colt GALYX catches the eye here for Jack Channon. This 3yo colt finished sixth behind Economics on debut at this track before improving to win in good style at Windsor when well backed. He certainly wasn’t disgraced when third at Carlisle in soft ground on final start. Freshened up since and now sent handicapping an opening mark of 83 may well underestimate his ability. I expect him to love the step up to this trip as well.

That has resulted in decent profit so this colt looks worth chancing to get back in the winners enclosure at 8/1 and also covering the place angle at a generous 9/4.

Kodi Bear filly AGOUTI BEAR caught the eye when runner-up at the Curragh on debut and then improved to go down just half a length at Navan when last seen. She has more to come and if she takes to this surface she will be a danger to all and has a good chance to make the breakthrough.
Kempton 6.45 Cognisance (15/8)
Unbeaten Sea The Stars filly COGNISANCE made a bright start winning on debut at Redcar and then followed up with a bit to spare over C&D last month. The runner-up has gone in since to frank the form and now handicapping she could easily have more to come so is worth keeping on side for now.
Kempton 7.45 Pure Of Heart (9/2)
That was quite an impressive win from PURE OF HEART at Lingfield last week and it is no great surprise to see her turned out quickly under a penalty. Now she knows how to win I think she can kick on and this could be a good opportunity for her to strike again while the iron is hot. I thought she’d be shorter than 9/2.
