Swinging Eddie 11/4 (1pt)

Topweight SWINGING EDDIE (best priced at 11/4) bounced back to form last time at Catterick and he shouldn’t be inconvienced by this switch back to the AW. The Grant Tuer trained eight-year-old is a three-time course and distance winner here off marks of 55, 61 and 59 with a further 2nd placed effort off a mark of 66.

Swinging Eddie runs here off a mark of 62 following a 4lb rise for his Catterick victory but this race should suit his running style from Stall 3 and he looks the one to beat under Oli Stammers.

Tuesday 8:30 Newcastle- The Cookstown Cafu 11/4 (1pt)

THE COOKSTOWN CAFU (forecast to be priced at 11/4) won on his stable debut for David O’Meara over this course and distance last time and he should prove hard to beat off only a 2lb higher mark. The five-year-old was making his AW debut last time having left Kevin Ryan where he had previously been rated as high as 85 last year.

Making his stable debut off a mark of 71, The Cookstown Cafu landed a gamble when victorious by half a length when sent off the 5/2 favourite under Danny Tudhope. It was a bunched finish so a 2lb rise is fair but watching the race back he looked the most likely winner from a long way out. Mark Winn takes over on board in this apprentice handicap and he should prove hard to beat.
