Sun Chariot Stakes - 14:40 Saturday
A small and select field of six runners with plenty of quality, but a tough race to work out all the same, writes oddschecker’s Racing Lee on this weekend’s Sun Chariot Stakes.
The leading fillies contest one of the few remaining Group 1’s of the Flat season on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket on Saturday.

The two five-year-old Gosden runners have to give three pounds to the rest of the field, all who are three-year-olds.
Inspiral has been largely disappointing this season and needs to get back on track, but has the class to do so. Nashwa falls into that bracket too, and has a long layoff to overcome.
Tamfana and See The Fire both won well last time out in lower grades, having contested Group 1’s prior to those easy victories, and they both have their chance.
But, it’s the two outsiders I will risk.
A small play on ELMALKA, who burst to the front late on to win the 1000 Guineas, beating Porta Fortuna who has won multiple Group 1’s since.
Tamfana was fourth that day and See The Fire was well beaten.
She was fourth in the Coronation at Royal Ascot behind Porta Fortuna and Opera Singer, both added Group 1 wins since then.
Sheffield travelled well when behind Opera Singer in the Group 1 Nassau, and now drops in trip back to the mile she won the Guineas at.
She can go well and might be to strike while others aren’t on their A-game.
DARNATION is brought in to fill a place, as she’s a multiple Group 2 winner on soft conditions (currently soft with showers due), she’s also back over that mile, and won the German 1000 Guineas. She has form over See The Fire and is a prominent racer so might be to stay on best, on conditions she enjoys.
