Lzaz 13/2 (1pt)

Dandy’s Angel arrives here chasing a hat-trick but a 4lb penalty will make things trickier and I am willing to take a chance on LZAZ (best priced at 13/2) on his handicap debut. The Andrew Balding trained three-year-old is the least exposed runner in the field and he is expected to prove much better than his opening mark of 61.

Lzaz has looked outpaced over 7f and a mile in his three qualifying runs but now returns from a 51 day break upped in trip to 1m2f. Rossa Ryan takes over on board and he could prove far too good for this company.

Naepoint 7/2 (1pt)

The Ed Bethell trained NAEPOINT (best priced at 7/2) has won two of his three runs in handicaps with his only disappointing effort coming in a competitive Racing League race. The three-year-old won by a short head on his handicap debut at Doncaster before bouncing back to win by 1 ¾ lengths over this course and distance last time under Paul Mulrennan.

Naepoint runs here off a 5lb higher mark but the switch in tactics to front running seemed to really suit him and he is expected to adopt those same tactics in this race. The yard are in great form with form figures of 1622611 in the last week and Naepoint is expected to prove hard to beat.

Lady Of Arabia 7/2 (1pt)

LADY OF ARABIA (best priced at 7/2) put in a career best performance when she won over this course and distance a month ago in first time cheekpieces and she should prove hard to beat off a 4lb higher mark. The Eve Johnson Houghton trained four-year-old has a good record on the AW in her career with form figures of 321211301 including a win and a close 2nd over this course and distance.

If the cheekpieces work for a second time then Lady Of Arabia looks well handicapped off a mark of 79 and she looks sure to be involved in the finish under Finley Marsh.

15:20 Longchamp

Sunday 3:20 Longchamp- Delius 12/1 (0.5pt ew)

This is an open renewal of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with it currently 5/1 the field. I am willing to take a chance on the Jean-Claude Rouget trained DELIUS (best priced at 12/1) for a stable who has won the race recently with Sottsass and Ace Impact. The three-year-old finished 3rd in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris behind Sosie and Illinois before finishing 2nd behind Sosie last time in the Prix Niel.

On both of those occasions he was ridden from the rear in small fields but this bigger field and stronger pace should suit Delius much better. Ioritz Mendizabal retains the ride and I have no doubt that Delius will be staying on strongly at the finish and I would be surprised if he finishes out of the frame with five places on offer.
