15:10 York

After bumping into a nice horse in Northern Ticker on debut LORD ROXBY improved to get off the mark at Beverley. He was far from disgraced beaten just half a length at Redcar last month and promises to do better again now pitched into a nursery for the first time.

Trainer Nigel Tinkler has done well with handicap debutants this year producing 3 winners and 7 placed efforts from 24 runners so it wouldn’t surprise me to see this 2yo a warm order off an opening mark of just 81.

York 2.05 Amiloc (15/8)

The money came for AMILOC on debut and he made no mistake prevailing by a neck to get off to a perfect start. He went up to a mile at Kempton last month and followed up staying on well and now back on turf returning to 7f I think he can complete the hat-trick. He is clearly quite a nice prospect and this is a nice pot to win before being put away for next year. Praetorian got off the mark at Brighton and could be the danger.

Chepstow 2.45 Regatta De Blanc (2/1)

I know she was sent off skinny odds but REGATTA DE BLANC got the job done impressively in a hunter chase at Cheltenham when last seen and could be a nice mare to go to war with now sent over hurdles. She clearly has quite a big engine and now with Paul Nicholls should flourish. She’ll get further than this so won’t be inconvenienced however hard they go and I think she is the most likely winner.

Newmarket 4.45 Dance Sequence (11/4)

Something was clearly a miss for DANCE SEQUENCE in France when last seen and she is better judged on her excellent second to Ezeliya in the Oaks. She also ran well in the Nell Gwyn earlier in the season and freshened up again could be the one to beat in this. She still has potential to do better after just 6 starts and it is no surprise to see her installed as favourite. Higher Leaves got an easy lead to win at Longchamp last time but is still feared as the main danger.

Kempton 6.45 French Master (6/4)

Frankel colt FRENCH MASTER failed to make much impact on debut despite being well backed but quickly put that right to win at Doncaster when last seen. Given time since he is open to further improvement and despite carrying a penalty should have too much for these. Al Ameed spurned yet another good opportunity last time so is hard to recommend but still looks the threat. The two debutants are likely to need the run but still watch the market for any clues.
