Steve Ryder has picked out two horse racing tips for Saturday’s horse racing and lined up another selection for tomorrow’s card at the Goodwood.
16:20 Hexham
4:20 Hexham- Our Sam 11/1 (0.5pt ew)
The Jimmy Moffatt trained OUR SAM (best priced at 11/1) was a beaten favourite over this course and distance last time so he looks overpriced in his bid for a repeat success in this race. The eight-year-old was following up another course and distance success when winning this by ¾ length off a mark of 112 and he runs in it this year of only a 2lb higher mark.
Our Sam has been given a short break since his last run and he should be involved in the finish with Danny McMenamin once again on board.
16:45 Chelmsford
4:45 Chelmsford- Twitch 6/4 (1pt)
TWITCH (best priced at 6/4) has looked progressive since running over this course and distance and he should prove hard to beat off a 2lb higher mark. The seven-year-old would have disappointed new connections on his first four starts but has shown improved form since running on the AW.
Twitch nearly defied odds of 80/1 when finishing 2nd by less than a length in August before winning by 2 ¾ lengths on his next start off a mark of 51. He followed up by a neck off a mark of 58 under Georgia Dobie a fortnight ago and he should hold strong claims of completing a hat-trick of course and distance victories.
15:00 Goodwood
Horse Racing Tips Tomorrow
Sunday: 3:00 Goodwood- Alcazan 11/4 (1pt)
It took Roger Teal 48 runs to run ALCAZAN (best priced at 11/4) on soft ground but she appeared to relish the conditions when winning comfortably at Ascot over 5f. The six-year-old defied odds of 22/1 to win by 1 ¼ lengths that day under Hayley Turner and she retains the ride off a 6lb higher mark.
Alcazan has a good record at Goodwood with two course and distance wins and a fourth placed finish so the return to this track is no concern. She drops in grade from a Class 2 0-105 handicap into this Class 3 0-95 and she is expected to prove hard to beat.
