Steve Ryder has picked out two horse racing tips for Sunday’s horse racing and lined up another selection for tomorrow’s card at the Kempton.
16:00 Seddon
4:00 Naas- Seddon 15/2 (0.5pt ew)
Although the pair haven’t had the greatest amount of success when teaming up, the booking of Colin Keane aboard the John McConnell trained SEDDON (best priced at 15/2) signals strong intent. The veteran won at the Cheltenham festival in 2023 over fences off a mark of 143 before following up over hurdles at the Punchestown festival off a mark of 134.
Since those festival successes, he has run three times on the flat with both of his latest runs resulting in victories at Killarney and Listowel. A mark of 90 underestimates the chances of Seddon based on his previous form over timber and he is expected to run well with up to six places available.
16:45 Goodwood
4:45 Goodwood- Rhoscolyn 13/2 (0.5pt ew)
The David O’Meara trained RHOSCOLYN (best priced at 13/2) is unbeaten in both of his starts on heavy ground at Goodwood as well as having a further three successes at the track on soft ground. The six-year-old won by a length in September off a mark of 97 on heavy ground before slightly disappointing under a 6lb penalty at Ascot in the Challenge Cup a week ago.
Rhoscolyn runs here off a mark of 99 so he is competitively handicapped under his optimum conditions and he looks sure to be involved in the finish.
Monday 7:45 Kempton- Zinchenko 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
ZINCHENKO (forecast to be priced at 7/1) drops into a Class 6 0-62 handicap for the first time in his career and he should further enhance his record at this track. The Jonny Portman trained three-year-old finished 4th in a maiden here when only beaten four lengths before finishing 5th beaten 2 ½ lengths in a handicap off a mark of 68. A 4th placed effort off a mark of 64 was followed by another close defeat when only beaten 1 ¾ lengths off a mark of 62 last month.
Connections now fit Zinchenko with first time cheekpieces for this race and he should once again be involved in the finish under Rob Hornby off a career low mark.
