I know SEDDON is an 11yo now but he has been in rude health winning his last two starts on the Flat and fairly bolted up at Listowel last month. He is back up in trip here and now handicapping with Colin Keane booked for the ride I think he could go close at a decent price.

His trainer John McConnell has been profitable to follow from a win perspective with handicap debutants and this veteran may just be a little overpriced at 9/1. A lot like the Stat Bet yesterday I have covered it each way and as an outright place bet and it worked then so hopefully we can bank some more profit.

  • Clever Relation – Goodwood 1.50
  • Alfie’s Princess - Ffos Las 2.10
  • Caught U Looking - Naas 3.25
  • Alpha Crucis - Goodwood 4.45

Goodwood 1.50 Clever Relation (9/4)

The money was down and CLEVER RELATION made no mistake at this track when last seen beating Sea Legend by a length. He moves up to 2 miles for the first time and should have further improvement to come as his stamina is drawn out further. He is unexposed and looks the one to beat. Judgementofsolomon clearly isn’t the most straightforward but did win at Pontefract on penultimate start and could still be the danger if bouncing back.

Ffos Las 2.10 Alfie’s Princess (9/4)

I have been waiting to see ALFIE’S PRINCESS over fences and this looks a good starting point for her. She won her first couple of starts over hurdles and looks a mare to catch when fresh. That was a good run on final start in a Grade 2 at Newbury and she could have a bright future in this sphere. Smiling Getaway has potential to improve now over fences too and is the danger. Eureka Creek is another one to note.

Naas 3.25 Caught U Looking (11/4)

Down to Listed company CAUGHT U LOOKING is expected to prove hard to beat. This Harzand filly was last seen finishing a good third at Goodwood last month and with the step back up to a mile and a half likely to suit I think she can get back in the winners enclosure. Siege Of Troy wasn’t disgraced when third at Kentucky Downs last month and is still lightly raced so could emerge as the danger. Andromeda is another one I expect to get competitive.

Goodwood 4.45 Alpha Crucis (9/2)

Testing conditions and a more prominent ride saw ALPHA CRUCIS back to his best over slightly further here last month. He ended up winning by 6 lengths and has been put up 9lb as a result but he could still have a fair bit more to come and I think the drop back down to a mile looks a pretty good move. Whip Cracker is another horse I expect to relish dropping back in trip and he looks the danger. Dashing Darcey is also in with a squeak at a bigger price.
