Having gone close in both starts over hurdles TRIBAL GLORY could easily improve again now handicapping. An opening mark of 112 is no given but I do think that form with Shakeyatailfeather is decent and also he should relish going up to 3 miles for the first time too.

Trainer Fergal O’Brien has done well with handicap debutants saddling 5 winners and 8 placed efforts from just 28 runners and is profitable to follow so the 5/1 makes appeal as does the 6/4 about a place.

Today’s Lucky 15 from Joe Norris at GYTO pays 190/1 at the time of posting – a £1 Lucky 15 would return £550 from a £15 outlay.

  • Monbeg Park – Punchestown 3.20
  • Clondaw General - Worcester 3.38
  • Tintintin - Wetherby 4.00
  • Darn Hot Mystery - Kempton 6.15

Punchestown 3.20 Monbeg Park (11/4)

Despite falling at Tipperary Gorgeous Tom looks a nice horse so for MONBEG PARK to finish second to him at Wexford that was a decent effort. He has more to come over fences and this looks a good opportunity for him to get back in the winners enclosure. Pink In The Park ran well chasing home Shecouldbeanything at Listowel and looks the obvious danger. Rainbow Trail also has claims.

Worcester 3.38 Clondaw General (7/2)

Kim Bailey often does well at this time of the year and CLONDAW GENERAL looks like a potentially promising recruit. He won his sole start in Irish points and cost £150,000 as a 5yo. He is a half-sister to French Grade 1 winner Top of The Sky and certainly looks the part on paper. As long as he doesn’t need the run I think he is the one to beat. Big John Wayne looks the danger despite falling when last seen.

Wetherby 4.00 Tintintin (9/4)

With 3 wins from his last 5 starts TINTINTIN was looking progressive over hurdles. Put away since finishing Haydock he is expected to get back on the upgrade now and this looks a good starting point. I can see this track suiting and he is one to keep on side. Allmankind was a good third on reappearance last month and if building on that could be the danger. Williethebuilder is another one in with a squeak.

Kempton 6.15 Darn Hot Mystery (5/2)

Too Darn Hot filly DARN HOT MYSTERY has improved with each start and she looked a bit unlucky to be nailed at Lingfield last month. That form is working out well enough and with further progress she should open her account now. Cartwheel was heavily backed on debut at Beverley but could only manage third. She is entitled to improve on that though so could be the biggest danger.
